considering most of us probably already own a good chuck of the bonus material and it's staying in SD, I think $90 is a bit high. I think I'll wait and buy it when it drops to about $80

Warner's site has it for as low as $70 if you use the 30% off code- check out the Hot Deals thread.

What about 4 titles? Since, you know... it's the Matrix Trilogy and The Animatrix.

I'm on board.

I really liked the first one and I wasn't all that into the last two, but I really liked the Animatrix and I uncharacteristically excited about this release. This makes it feel more like Blu-Ray is the standard to me now...for some reason.

I love the Matrix series but I think I am going to wait this one out and rent it when it first release. I hate the fact that Warner force me to pay for all the junks that I don't need.

LOL i saw the Mass Copying and bootlegging of DVD come in 2002-2003, price dropped on Ebay, but i sold my collection at a very nice price, and certain movies more than i paid for (OOP stuff), i only kept my HK Imports and Shows and some Anime. I already had a HDTV and i knew that a HD format would come eventually.

Sorry if this has been covered already, but are we not getting the scaled down (cheaper) "Complete Collection"?

I'm all for studios re-encoding their previously-released-on-HD DVD titles *if* they looked like ass on the other format. In the case of these films, from everything I've read, the HD DVD versions looked incredible to begin with. I know it's hard for us here at blu-ray.com to admit sometimes, but not ALL HD DVD releases looked bad, guys. Some of them looked damn good. I mean, the format's dead, so credit where credit's due, you know. Would I rather have a maxed out bitrate on a BD-50? Of course. Theoretically, it *could* get better that way. On the other hand, I never saw the HD DVD version (I was never purple), so I'm going to reserve judgment on this until I see the Blu edition. If the transfers and soundtracks are of the kind of quality that I'm reading virtually everywhere regarding the HD DVD version, then I'm not going to give two sh*ts about where they came from. If it looks great and sounds great, who really gives a crap? I think sometimes people get so caught up in counting bits that they forget how to actually enjoy a movie in HD video and HD audio. And that's a real tragedy, folks. Let's wait and see the blu release for ourselves before we get our panties in a bunch.
As one of the moaners, I have to admit that this is a fair point.

Some Warner "gimp jobs" which look good on Blu: The Wild Bunch, Dog Day Afternoon, 300 ... Touch wood, The Matrix will be like these and not like Batman Begins.
