well all you said was this movie will be a turd, I have about the same level of hope for this movie as you do, but you never know, it might have a good script, which could be really great

Only cause wolverine was crap doesn't mean this will be, it just sets out your outlook on it.

You're definitely thinking of the animated Hulk Vs. Wolverine. X-23 doesn't appear in the live action film.

It did pretty good, $363,392,154 (as reported by boxofficemojo, but their foreign numbers are a month out of date, so it is probably a little higher) on a $150mil budget.

With home video, merchandise, and tv rights, the movie will make a nice profit.

WHAT, what did they do with half the budget, unless it was wasted on all the explosions.

I think this movie will be good...I liked all the x-men films tho...i think there very good..and so is wolverine...(watched wolverine 2 times now since i bought it) Alot of ppl complain and nitpick at things...Just enjoy the show...be happy there is a xmen and wolverine movie...Back in the day i always wished there was a movie of wolverine or xmen..and its here...Im just glad i got it to watch whenever i want..and i welcome more.

I would love to see a xmen movie with sentinels...i use to enjoy watching the xmen vs. sentinel battles...everyone remembers the part where wolverine digs his claws into a sentinel then climbs its back and takes its head off...then cyclops blasts it in the chest...ahhhh the good ol days.

Possibly--The two do tend to blur in the memory.

Still wouldn't put it past Fox, though.
(And Young Storm just for sequel-retentiveness, even though it makes even less canonical sense.)

I also like the X-Men movies and Wolverine, and as you said many people argue and take shots at the movies, but if you see the extras the interview with Stan Lee and Len Wein talking about the character and how they enjoyed the movie that's good enough for me.

Me too... I think that First Class if it's done correctly could be great!
As somebody said before the team will probably be Jean Grey, Cyclops, Beast, Storm and Emma Frost, they could also add one or two other characters.

Default X-Men First Class finds a director...you may have heard of him.

Link and video

Quote:
No need to beat around the bush with this one: on the blue carpet for Avatar’s LA premiere earlier this evening, Bryan Singer offered up a tiny little detail about his follow-up to Jack the Giant Killer. He says he’s signed to return to the X-Men franchise, for the film that will now presumably be called X-Men Origins: First Class.

Flickchart mentioned Singer’s statement on Twitter, and it only took a few moments of combing through Ustream’s archive of the live blue carpet video feed to find the brief interview with Singer. What he says, exactly, when asked about his next project is:
Quote:
I’m prepping up to do a movie called Jack the Giant Killer [at] Warner Brothers, and I just yesterday signed a deal to do an X-Men First Class Origins picture, which is kind of cool.

This isn’t entirely a surprise, as Singer has talked about returning to the X-Men franchise as recently as this past October “I’m still looking to possibly returning to the ‘X-Men’ franchise. I’ve been talking to Fox about it. I love Hugh Jackman. I love the cast,” he said then. He’s also said he was considering directing First Class. Seems unlikely that he’ll get to work with Jackman much in this one, however, as the film is meant to cover the team of X-Men prior to Wolverine’s arrival in the first film.

Lauren Shuler Donner has said “the movie focuses on the first class at Xavier’s school of the gifted, so only those mutants will be featured in the first movie,” by which she evidently means that we’ll see the early days of the original X-Men team. In April of this year, she described it like so:

Quote:
So it’s young Scott, young Jean, young Beast and that’ll be really fun. I think (the plan) is to follow some of the characters into their own stories, and weave them back into the X-Men world. And hopefully First Class will become its own franchise and we can follow them as they grow up.

So any word if they're using this as a prequel to the 3 X-Men movies currently out or is this a whole new story?

Like will this include Storm? Or will it go back and include Angel and Iceman?

Well it says it will presumably be called X-Men Origins: First Class.

If that is the case, then that would mean it is most likely a prequel to the existing films.

I hope Fox knows what they are doing (doubtful) with all these prequels to those movies. This would be the 3rd, and most of the time prequels tend to screw up the established past in the future movies (there are already discrepencies with the first prequel afterall).

I'm cool with Singer coming back to X-men. I've enjoyed them all on some level with X-2 being my favorite. There will always be continuity issues with prequels so we will just need to look past that and judge it as a seperate film. I just want some mutant entertainment for a couple hours.

Can we stop with the prequels already? Seeing characters go off and doing seperate adventures (ie Wolveine in Japan) is cool but we know what happens with these characters; we know their biggest challenges. I want to see the story progress. XO: Wolverine added nothing to the other X-Men movies in my opinion.

Singer is a good director and he treated the X franchise well (until he ditched it) so I'm glad to see him back but First class is the least interesting X-Men project available to me.

Nope it's going to be an Origins movie, like Magneto and Wolverine. Hope they do it up right, so a lot like X-Men evolution.

Actually, your rant isn't over. Fox plans on making a prequel to it ... and a spin off

I will agree with you that FOX sucks. They tend to interfere with every movie that they release.

I do not agree that Singer sucks. X-Men 1 and 2 were very good superhero movies. The Usual Suspects and Valkyrie are both great films. The reason Superman Returns wasn't that good was because of its script. Don't knock Singer's directing abilities. He's one of the better young directors out there.

As long as FOX doesn't interfere with X-Men First Class, it should be good.
