I work at circuit citiy and i am "pushed to sell monster because of the 68% margin over the cheap 5% margin cables.

this is how i look at it. Yes it is a digital cable it either works or not they both send the 0 1 signal and are both certified for loseless.

correct me if i am wrong but if we look at this the same way compared to a TV why not buy a 1080p vizio or 1080p Element. Vizio is a lot cheaper and would have the same number of lines compared to a 1080p Samsung. But why does the Samsung look better and cost more? I understand it has a big margin but is it not more reliable then a Vizio? wasn't more money put for the best parts and make sure it works? (i know resolution isnt everything)

now lets go back to Monster yes it is more expensive but why is it no one here buying a vizio but a expensive TV and owns the cheap cables? I say you are going to buy a TV once 5-10 years and most people here have a blu ray player and a good home theatre system is the extra $100 really going to kill you after spending over $3000 for top of the line electronics?

for my TV i have all 1000 Monster HDMI and with my employee discoount i get them for $40 but i am sure if i still had to pay full price i would still buy them.

please do correct me i know i do make mistakes.
and for the recod i have nothing against Monoprice i think they are a good website for those who can't afford the $100 HDMI cables

Thank you for taking time to read my Thread

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Maybe, just maybe...someday you will find out that you are TOTALLY Wrong on just about every subject you talk about in this thread, and realize...YOU not only give your place of business a bad name...but this forum, yourself etc.

we get a 65% discount on monster and you went with nextech????

and i know what that stuff is i am just curious to know if it has it and of course you saw no difference with the Monster 700 that is a 60hz 8bit cable that does not support Loseless audio and the speed on that is what 4.95 gps?

Speed is important 10.95 GPS with Monster 1000

X.V Color: gives 1.8 million more colors then RGB

and the 12 bit is also for color

you must not work in TV's...
I can't believe CC has someone as incompetent as you selling TV's.
You really buy into everything you "learned" at the monster training?? lol
I think you need to "Chiggity check yo self...before you wreck yo self" lol

probably you help people find DVD's or CD's
Probably where YOU need to be, until you get your knowledge up in home theater.

and it was a simple quesion if the Monoprice cable had it so do not give me that crap about giving Circuit City a bad name since you bought a $50 nextech cable that is worse then the one on Monoprice
An HDMI cable, is an HDMI cable. Unless you are running lengths of more than 15ft.....ANY HDMI Cable will WORK (save a defective or broken one) And even at 15ft most any would be fine, especially a Monoprice one... There arent anymore pins...or special 1.3 rating needed.
The speed rating is such BS it's laughable. "better" more expensive cables...are POINTLESS (unless ofcourse you like the pretty design and lifetime warranty)

lol i would not work at Circuit City for the rest of my life.. I am 19 and going to college and i will admit that I do not know everything and this is just a temp job

If you like to be "Good at what you do" do the research for yourself.
You will quickly learn that MONSTER practices deceptive marketing in their products.

about the ONLY benefit to those 800 & 1000 series HDMI cables aside from the lifetime warranty is, that they are CL rated meaning you can run them in walls (non combustible).

Panamax. And since Monoprice doesn't sell them, I had to buy it from One Call after my highly touted Monster 2500 went tits up (hey, it did have some pretty colored lights on the front that made my HT room look like something from Star Trek when all the lights were out at night). All my cables come from Monoprice and have never had a problem with them, but after reading all your highly informative posts, I think I'll run out to Circuit City and replace them all with some overpriced Monster cables so that I can be an arrogant weiner and brag to all my friends that I have the best cables in the world. I'm sure that will impress them, and possibly help me get laid more too.

Man, I read through the whole thread and I'm still stunned that people get, litterally, suckered into buying brands like "Monster". But hey, if you got cash to waste and are so stubborn after the hundreds and hundred of posts across speciality sites such as this site or AVS and Home Theater Forum stating that there are no difference between a high price cable and a lower price one (with same specs), then you deserved to be suckered.

I bought all my cables from Monoprice and couldn't be happier.

If one does a quick search on google (you may of come across it on TV as well). It's been proven, again and again, that B&M stores make their money with cables ranging from 65% to 800% margins.

I can't say anything bad for Nexxtech either. I only have two of their products: an CD alarm clock and awesome headphones for gaming, both which I'm happy with. I don't know how their cables are but apparently people seem to be happy with them, although, once again, you could get them cheaper at places like Monoprice.
