at the time (april '07), it was the BD player with the best balance of price and quality.

Last year my eldest son bought a ps3 European and gave me his Japanese one.
Since then I am a 'BD-sick'. I own 75 plus 7 coming and progressing till my total ruin.

I didn't want my Barney "the purple" Dinosaur sing-a-long collection on cd to go to waste. I needed a new cd player for home use. I paid about $600 us & figured the ps3 was the best cd player on the market.

Finding out a year & 7 months later that it plays blu-ray, dvd & games was just a shocking bonus.

Mostly for Blu Rays. I buy most of my games for XBox 360. However, I did buy Metal Gear Solid and am waiting for God of War 3 whenever that gets released

Diehard gamer realizing that ratchet's next outing was on ps3,resistance done by the same people and very conviently got a bd player. Haven't regreted geting a 2nd ps3 either but i wanted to wait til .65 nanometers hit unfortunatlly the 60gig was being discontinued so i grabbed a 2nd unit before i was planning to.Glad i did because both units are fully backwards compatible and have the flash slots
which were useful in transfering game save data using my psp mem stick.

I wonder if sony will return the flash ports to the 160 gb model.

I have a growing bd collection up next iron man. Still decideing whether or not to get transformers before revenge of the fallen arrives.

Best available Blu-Ray IMO and I liked the Wi-Fi with internet browser. I already had an XBOX 360 for games, the PS3 just happened to have great features, the right price and fast load times.
