I miss those days, when I had the time during summer vacation with nothing to do but play video games all day long. I missed playing Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 1,2,3 on the SNES. But life goes on and life continues to sucks harder because we don't have time for it anymore.

And somehow, I'm losing interest in video games and don't know why. Maybe I'm just maturing

Are you kidding? If this release holds true for the US then that means Japan would be getting this game in May/June. I would be a very happy guy if this is the release date. That being said I think it is not or any where close to it. I think Japan will get this game around March 2009 with the US and Europe getting it Fall 2009, Square said a short while back that the game was something like 1.3% complete.

You and me both! I love Final Fantasy but I have had less and less time to play games. Through grade school (especially 7th grade) I use to play games all the time I have a 95hr FF7 & 75hr Dragon Quest 8 save to prove it, but those days are gone and College and work rule. I will always be a gamer but it's looking like I will need to be retired to finish anything!

Don't get too excited about these ones, they're FMV grabs (tiny ones at that) but nice to look at nonetheless:

FINAL FANTASY XIII

There's a couple more but everyone's seen them a million times already.

FINAL FANTASY VERSUS XIII

Default FFXIII To Use "Full Specifications" Of PS3, Definitely Exclusive

http://www.psxextreme.com/ps3-news/2177.html

First up, and most exciting of all, is the fact that Nomura says the "evolution of Final Fantasy XII to XIII will be as big as the evolution of Final Fantasy VI to VII." We remember the early PlayStation days, when Final Fantasy VII effectively ushered in a new generation of role-playing, and that was pretty damn huge. On top of this, he said FFXIII will likely use the "full specifications" of the PlayStation 3. Now, everyone knows that installments in this franchise tend to push the limits of whichever system they appear on (Final Fantasy XII remains one of the most impressive PS2 productions ever), so this isn't really surprising. However, nobody really knows just how powerful the PS3 is...so maybe FFXIII will show us.
Nomura also dropped an interesting detail about the airship in Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Apparently, it's not just about transportation; players will actually engage in flight battles high above the world map! How this will be done isn't exactly known, but it's still a very entertaining thought. Last but not least, Nomura was asked if Final Fantasy XIII and Versus XIII would remain PS3 exclusives, and his answer was simple- "of course."

this is awesome news. I'm not sure how many were around for vii, but the graphics and story made rpgs what they are today. that's a bold and exciting statement to say it'll happen again. I can't wait to get blown away

thats a definite plus to our weakness.

1) the internet. More Downloadable content and More users need to get on. sometimes finding a game is a hassle.

2) games are just Sequals and Prequals. We need newer titles.

That's great news and all, but now I just wish time would fast forward to it's release. I would trade all the PS3 games I own for FFXIII in a heartbeat.

So.. uh... when is this due to actually come out? Is there any word on the date or month? or year even?
How long must I wait until I can own the very thing that made me buy a PS3 in the first place?

I wonder if this will even be a late 08 release? Would love it to be so, but seems more and more like a 09 release. 08 has plenty of course with MGS4, Killzone 2, and a slew of other exclusives, but FF13 out in december 08 would just be.. well.. devistating.

I was there. It was and is a fundamental part of RPG gaming.

GOD I hope it's in 2008. I don't know if I can wait longer than that! Plus the PS3 really needs this title out to get more support for gaming.. and Blu-ray as well
