i think they sound great with music. most likely not as good as a really nice tower but for movies and games, they really get goin! i went from a full mirage system before (OM-9 towers in the front with the pioneer elite receiver) to the THX system with the earthquake amp at the same time and that setup really is a whole new experience. it brings new life to all my games and movies and i have nothing bad to say about the setup at all.

Very nice setup!!!! I see you went with the cinenova power amps - thats brute force. So think your Mirage OM-9's were more musical? I could understand that. I think that I might try the Bob Crites upgrades on my Heresy's, but my Snell to Audio Note upgrades are a greater priority.

the om-9's may have been better for 2 channel music playback, i never really tested them with music on the earthquake. i did hook em back up for a couple movie scenes just to compare and i did lose detail that the klipsch speakers really bring out. the 9's definitely had more bass than before because of the rear firing port which actually came out a bit muddy because of speaker placement. with the right placement, the om-9s are still great speakers but to me, just can't compete with the the thx system has to offer.

Default first time i have seen klipsch in a movie

in the middle of zohan, when he buys his stereo, and the guy says wow those are big speakers, they are klipsch or really looked like them.

You can't go wrong with the Heritage line. Incredibly effortless speakers. I have owned the KG4s, Chorus IIs, Quartets, Academy and the original THX package. You don't have to go very far up on the volume knob to ge a LOT of sound and good sound too. I much prefer the Heritage to the new lines. Not that they are bad but just that the bigger/older Heritage just sound better to me.

My room doesn't allow for the speakers to be equidistant from the main viewing position and satisfy distance from the wall...

Any thoughts?

edit: I realize what sounds best to me is the best option. I'm trying to keep the conversation going and think this is a decent question.
Slec, I started another thread to talk about stuff like that today. It's about speaker positioning - an important thing it seems with quality speakers.

New question - I intially asked about the comparison of the RF line vs the Heritage line - not a lot of feedback. Well now I want to know - how many of you actually own Heritage Line Klipsch? Heritage line would include the following.

Klispchorns
Belles
LaScala
Cornwalls
Heresey

I will also add these -
Chorus
Forte
Academy
Quartets

All of these are basicly horn loaded speakers (at least a Horn loaded tweeter and midrange with the exception of the Academy - its a center channel). I've seen no one in the Galleries with Heritage speakers (I find this strange with Klipsch strong following). I would also like to see if there are any Snell owners out there also - Even Woody has one other person on the site with Von's ! I would consider his speakers rare indeed! Ok who's out there?

I asked what was "the thing" for quality sound these days (this was at least 12 or 15 years ago) and her eyes lit up like a kid at christmas. She took my hand and said "Klipsch!!! you have to hear them" We spent about a half an hour just listening to different speakers and she told me stories about her dad's old system at home.

I will always have a soft spot for Klipsch speakers because of that.
She knew SO much about sound and timbre and voicing. Honestly, I really hope she has the system of her dreams now and I hope she is rocking Blu-ray.
No...she is most definitely rocking Blu-ray.

you must go back and marry this lady.

Do you know what I just realized in buying all of my speakers separately at different times just looking for deals and whatnot I potentially bought this setup http://www.klipsch.com/products/deta...er-system.aspx individually at different places without even knowing it they have a MSRP of $3634 on their site I ended up paying roughly $1900 for this whole setup thats pretty good! Its very ironic though haha

That's pretty damn close to what I paid for mine as well! Though I'm much happier with my sub than the one in that 'package'...

Hell yea dude your setup was one of the original ones I was looking at/drooling over before I got into the mindset to purchase everything thanks to tweeters going out of business sale lol. I do need to thank you for the pics and making me potentially buy all this crap.

Any time When do you move in and set your gear up?

In that same vain, I need to thank/hate Beta and Prerich. I absolutely love my setup, and for movies I wouldn't trade it for anything. However, for music, I followed the lead of those two by listening to all kinds of speakers that I couldn't afford and found some speakers to drool over for music... It'll be quite a few years, so I'll have to save up my pennies for those bad boys...I may never even get them, but hey... it's a target......stupid upgraditis

If it were up to me I'd say tomorrow haha but we are shooting for mid January I hope and pray! I can't see it being too much later than that though. I'll keep everyone posted especially when it becomes really close then I need to call the guy to calibrate all my speakers precisely, which is my buddies boss/neighbor so hopefully he can help a kid like me do all this right because that is what he does for a living home theater setups and maybe not charge me a whole lot.

It was Thiels for a while with me. When I got out and listened a bit, I fell in love with Focal Chorus 826V's. I think it I were to save up, I'd save up for the 836V's. I've had my eye on these.

I heard them through separates, so my thought was to get a dedicated room when I move in the next year. Add a dedicated circuit. Get a pre/pro and amp (thinking Emotiva), THEN get the Focals. I had a really good offer on the 826's recently, but balked at pulling the trigger.

I can get the Thiels I want for less than I paid for my current speakers....they're VERY affordable on the used market, but all of the OTHER costs really add up quickly.... I want to build the room first (Foam.... EVERYWHERE!)

I've got a new camera and I'm going to post pics in the Gallary tomorrow - they are ugly by today's standards but I can put up with the look for the performance . I'll be switching to Audio Note in June if I'm still living then I should be finishing that project then
