Because he has this complex that requires him to never change, yes he worked out, and built a big ego to play Ali, but he just seems like he is the same character in everything. Every movie I've ever seen him in, he has to always get in his digs about his "black ass" every single movie he has to make some comment about his race to let us all know, in case we forgot, so in Oldboy I fear, he will have been held captive because he's black according to him. He has never impressed me enough to believe he can pull this off, there is nothing gritty or vicious or savage about him, he is a rapper and comedian role kind of guy, he isn't exactly Gary Oldman, Denzel Washington or Ben Kingsley who actually transform into unrecognizable roles.

What the hell are you talking about? The Oldboy remake isn't a western! And someone already said his name in this thread but.... If they were to remake this I'd pick Gary Oldman to be in it! |

That's a pretty racist assumption. And because Spielberg once said he wanted to do a western why are you so positive thats what this is going to be? Will Smith did a "Western" in Wild Wild West which was horrible btw, and he didn't seem nervous there now did he? Now please show me outside of the comment about wanting to make a western and making Oldboy a western. Yes you pointed out many times there is no script, so on that note please tell me where it says Oldboy the western? You have any idea how often a director changes his mind on what he wants to do?

You're still at the stage where you can't even form an opinion on what you just watched aren't you? Lol, I was there for a good 2-3 days before I could even believe the stuff I'd just seen the first time I watched it. It probably took me a good week before I realized how much I enjoyed it and needed to see it again to believe what my mind was telling me i'd just actually seen.

So I read this is part of a trilogy, revenge trilogy. I know they aren't related kinda like the dollars trilogy. But are the other two worth checking out? |
