Eddie Murphy could do the whole movie by himself. If Eddie Murphy was playing Batman Robin and Riddler i'd find it more believible

Yikes, if all this is true, which I'm quite sure it isn't, then I guess it ends with The Dark Knight for me.

The Latest False Batman Rumors

Quote:
The UK tabloids strike again. One, who shall remain unnamed, is claiming that Eddie Murphy is playing The Riddler in the next Batman movie, that Shia LaBeouf will play Robin and that Rachel Weisz is up for the role of Catwoman. Not only that, but the tabloid says the movie will come out in 2010, and that the movie "will end on a cliffhanger over whether Batman survives a blast at Wayne Towers."

All of the above is, of course, not true. Moving on...
Ha!

Depp is tied up to do too many movies so he won't be in the next Batman, the Murphy and Shia rumors are completely dumb rumors, probably the worst I have ever seen. Nolan hasn't even done the script and there's no way anyone would know what characters would be in it. Until it comes from Nolan's mouth, everything is a lie, just like the cake.......

a comedy would be good, but what i mean is something other than those oscar caliber non blockbuster movies. i'm not saying that anything other than hollywood blockbusters suck or are bad. i just think a little diversity would be good.

by one trick pony i mean he's typically in the same type of movie. one that is oscar worthy, not necessarily a typical hollywood blockbuster, etc.

sure, but i'm not talking about doing a role that is easy. i'm just talking about a role that is not his usual oscar fare. something you wouldn't expect to him do. i think he doesn't do the typical hollywood because it seems beneath him. i don't know. i could be wrong, but that's the impression i get and it colors my view of him as an actor.

again, i don't want him to phone in his roles or anything. would it kill him though to take a role that's not necessarily challenging per se, but fun as heck to play. look at heath ledger. he choose to play the joker. at the time it was not the most challenging role to play. and it was in a summer blockbuster. but he proved what he could do with that role. another great example is helen mirram. she's a phenomenal actress and she was in national treasure 2. it wasn't anything, but a fun role. i thought that was cool that would take a role such at this. i just think it's fun and cool to see actors changing it up like that.

that's not what i meant. certainly they can be serious, but they can be fun. let loose and do something unexpected. i think it would be great to see daniel day lewis in a judd aptow movie. it won't happen i don't believe, but i think it would be hilarious and a great casting choice. that's what i'm really talking about. to give you a better example take a look at adam sandler. this guy was doing stupid and sometimes funny comedies. then all of a sudden he comes out with punch drunk love. it was such a left turn for him. i thought it was brilliant. i don't think adam sandler is the best actor mind you, but i thought that showed the kind of guts some of the greatest actors of our time have shown to have.

Fight I am just ****ing with ya

But who knows why he doesnt do Blockbusters, I never really thought about it myself. Gangs and Mohicans were wide release, but other than that I cant really think of anything else that was that he has done...maybe he does think they are beneath him? Who knows

PS - I love Punch Drunk Love and wish The Sandman would do more films like that instead of his stupid comedies

Well I know that he decided to slow down his acting career once he got married and had kids, so it's understandable that he only wants to be away from his family for long periods of time if he comes across a character that fascinates him, and he can really get behind. You don't really find that in blockbusters.

Oh that makes sense, had no idea he was married and had kids.

I just thought he took breaks because he devoted so much to his characters lol

Especially if it originates from The Sun!

Obviously if it's in the Sun it must be true...
