BTW, w/o your subwoofer riser tutorial was such a help. I've actually got both my subs and my entire front sound stage on risers with foam and holy shit did it help. Thanks again.
BD did indicate that many of the photos between 3 and 6 seconds. No one in the world can hand hold a camera that long. So, the camera was on a tripod or some kind of solid support.

Big Daddy can.

I am just kidding. The camera was on a tripod. Unfortunately, the remote control was not working and I had to press the shutter release manually with my finger. That created a little camera shake. The other reason of course is that the original size of each picture was around 1.5MB. I reduced the size of each picture beelow 100KB. In all cases, the picture on the screen was much nicer than the pictures from the camera.

The camera is a Pentax K100D digital SLR camera.

A few more screen shots.
  • Projector: Epson 1080UB
  • Screen: Da-Lite Fixed Frame (96"W x 72"H)
  • Camera: Pentax K100 Digital SLR camera, B (Bulb) setting and between 3 to 5 seconds of exposure. Camera was set on a tripod.
  • Cable Used: 35ft Vaster Cable, Category 2, 24 Gauge
  • All pictures were cropped and reduced in size. The actual pictures on the screen were significantly better than the screen shots.

I'm still not close to starting anything and I'm not sure why I still visit the site, I am only hurting my own feelings by looking...

But, The pics look just fantastic

My girl has talked about getting a PJ and this is making me want one...

I was thinking about another DLP, The Mits 82"....

I guess I need to weigh the upkeep between a PJ and DLP as in replacement bulb's...

This may be backwards Big Daddy, but If you were trying to convince me not to get a PJ, what would you tell me?

A TV is a lot more convenient. A projector has a larger picture and more fun. However, they need a dedicated room with a screen and the room needs to be dark. You can't use a projector in a living room during the day unless you cover all your windows with very thick dark curtains.

I have a Sony VPL-VW10HT from a few years ago. This is the same projector that Driver_King owns. At the time, it was an excellent projector, but you cannot stop technology. If you are interested in it, send me a PM. You can have real cheap.

First off, thank you very much, but I will have to take you up on that offer after I move and get a few things in order. I know you understand I am not putting anything back into this place, even if someone wanted to send me something totally free of charge, I just CANNOT do it.

Secondly, my curiosity just shot up!!!!
I know you have joked about being rich or maybe it wasn’t a joke, but you have more stuff then I could imagine myself saving over the years and I usually do keep things up and working order and worth going to the next person.

I guess what my question/curiosity are you really one of those retired person that use to work at a magazine or website or somewhere that use to just get free items in the mail to review and just keep them for reviewing them?

No, unfortunately I paid for everything I own. I have been an audio/video addict and collector of A/V junk for many years. I have never reviewd any items for any magazine and I have never received any gifts from any manufacturer except the regular rebates that were available to everybody.

What an interesting collection of AV gear you have. And I thought I bought to many pieces of AV gear since starting back in 1985. But I think you have most of us beat. You could open your own vintage electronics store and have plenty of inventory. Anyway nice pairing of equipment for their respectful purposes. The 2 channel system would be a pleasent experience to hear. And thanks for being a great moderator here on Blu-Ray.com.

Hey BD, I know I'm dreaming again until, but what you think about this?

Definitive Technology BP7004 Bipolar SuperTower System
I would add two more surrounds for the 7.1

and

Epson Home Cinema 6500 UB
with
Screen
I guess the screen size depends on how far back you can go with the Projector.

I have been reading about the Epson Home Cinema 8500 UB and I am becoming very interested.

The speakers and the projector are outstanding and you will be very happy with them. I may come to your house and steal the new Epson 6500UB and leave you my Epson 1080UB.

The actual pictures on the screen are much sharper. John, it is time for you to abandon your dreams about high-end turntables and start saving your money to purchase a projector, screen, and a couple of subwoofers.

Good Morning tals! Been up for a while now, and shortly I'm off to work. As far as the screenshots are concerned, I'm still in awe at the quality.

Well I do have a LaserDisc Player that would be perfect for you John.

The discs look just like LP's except they have a shiny, mirrored surface instead of the black color on a LP.

But everytime you loaded and watched a movie it would look and feel like you were handling some LP's...
So it may be the Perfect Match for you.
