I had a job to do over in PA yesterday and tripped over a little place called Jerry's Records. Wow. He said he's closing in on 2 million records in stock. I unfortunately couldn't carry that but I did leave with:

Dire Straits - Alchemy
Arcadia - So Red The Rose (sealed)
Sammy Hagar - Three Lock Box (sealed)
Sammy Hagar - S/T (sealed)
Scorpions - Savage Amusement (sealed)
Duran Duran - Notorious
Duran Duran - Big Ones
Ian Anderson - Walk Into Light
Dokken - Breaking The Chains
Ratt - Reach For The Sky
Dire Straits - Making Movies
Jethro Tull - Repeat: Best Of Jethro Tull Vol. II
Flesh & Blood - Dead, White & Blue
Dire Straits - Communique
Alan Parsons Project - I, Robot
Fleetwood Mac - Tango In The Night
Blue Oyster Cult - Fire Of Unknown Origin
Axe - S/T
Axe - Living On The Edge
Dokken - Beast From The East
Billy Idol - Rebel Yell
Judas Priest - Priest...Live!

This guy has fantastic prices too!

I just purchased 3 more LPs from Better Records:

The "White Hot" Stamper of (side 2 rated A+++):

as well as the double LP British Charisma Import of:

and the double LP German Charisma Import of:

All of these were on sale. The Hot Stamper was still expensive, but the other 2 were reasonable for double LPs. The Hot Stamper has been well cleaned, but the other 2 LP sets will need cleaning.

I GO SWIMMING is one of my favourite PG tunes. I don't have the German import, only the Canadian domestic version, but it's in good shape.

I saw an audiophile copy of Supertramp's Crisis? What Crisis? LP and also saw that a Hot Stamper is coming soon. The expenditure is a little heavy for me, but since it's one of my favourite albums of all time, I might just have to splurge.

I hope you get something to play all of your vinyl on really soon. You must be so frustrated.

By the way, I was able to pick up a copy of the audiophile copy of Crisis What Crisis in near mint condition on eBay some months ago from someone in Canada.

It's only been a few months, so now I know what you've gone through. And yes, it is terribly frustrating.

It's a beautiful 180g double-LP release from Milan Records. If you're into movie scores, this is a must-own, in my opinion. The songs are moving and highly original, with a musical aesthetic that ranges from circus-inspired tunes to hauntingly gorgeous string arrangements. As I mentioned on the blog, the last track, 'Adagio for Strings' is especially stunning.

Is this a new release? And where did you get it from? Gonna have to do some searching. I think I would really like this.

He had a couple of them. The one I grabbed was in fantastic condition. Haven't listened to it yet because I have a lot to get through but I've heard nothing but good about Dire Straits live.

Jerry's is in the Squirrel Hill area of Pittsburgh about 15 minutes off the turnpike. Jerry told me people carpool from out of town all the time on big hunting expeditions. I showed my wife pictures of the store and she wants to go in July. I'm sure I'll be back before then.

hc666: haha yeah I have Dream Warriors on vinyl from when I was a wee lad. Breaking The Chains was hard to find in excellent condition because of the black cover and Beast From The East was in mint condition, which wrapped up getting all of the heyday albums for me. Just need to find Don Dokken's solo album, Up From The Ashes, and I'll be set. Maybe Lynch Mob too. It never ends...

Can anyone recommend a decent record player? I don't want something that will last like a year and it's toast but I also don't need a top of the line either. Just something simple so I can listen to my tunes.

I have quite the collection myself. Several Beatles albums still sealed, might have to tear into those puppies! I will say, vinyl sounds so much better than digital. By leaps and bounds!

Yes we can and WE WILL!

Start a seperate thread and tell us what it is you're considering, what you already have, etc.

When in the mall today I stopped in Hot Topic and they had TONS of vinyl. Good prices too! I that's the hot new thing with the kids today?!

Picked up:
$16 - Sounds great. Quality pressing. Insert with pics/lyrics and nice heavy anti-static sleeve

$6 - Sounds like dookie (not the album).

Going back next week for Metallica's Black album ($16)
