Not interviews per se, but footage of his "road trip" from "home" (Cambridgeshire), in his old Bently with a mate of his, to the Northern France War Cemetaries (his Grand Father has a headstone in one), and then via the Alps to the memorial in Monte Cassino (Italy), where his father is commemorated.

Also some other moody/atmospheric clips with his kids in the car, and him stopping off along the way at various spots having various discussions with people.

It's not ideal but it's not as bad as it sounds, and it doesn't bother me (though the reading of the letter to his mum when his Dad died, is a little self-pittying for my liking). I did find the "road trip" footage interesting, though perhaps that won't last on repeat plays.

The bass in the recordin is a touch heavy but otherwise, the quality of the performances, the musicianship and the recording itself (in Dolby TrueHD 7.1) is top notch!

HTH!

Have to say i was massively unimpressed by the crappy sound on the dave gilmour stuff, it's almost as if he's done it on purpose considering the sound quality on the rest of the discs.

What's the current status of the Wall in a new hi-res audio surround mix? I know that James Guthrie mentioned in like 2015 that he was working on it... Is that the latest we've heard?

Haven’t heard a word since 2015.

When I made this thread, I was just hoping for a Blu-ray of the film.
Now that I have many hi-res Surround releases on SACD, Blu-ray Audio, and DVD-A, I’d be more interested in a 5.1 mix that is anywhere near the quality of DSotM and WYWH. Easily two of my most spun surround discs.

Roger Waters - The Wall Blu-Ray gets regular play when the wife isn't home.

Just a phenomenal concert film and I was so privileged to see the concert when it was on tour.

Here's something hinting at the possibility that a 4k scan has been done. I doubt it though but would be nice,

From what I have heard, the multi-tracks (for the album) are in very bad shape. Whether or not this is affecting the release of a new Blu-ray for the film or not, I don't know. I imagine they ideally would want to have the music remixed as such that it can match up with a really good 4K transfer.

I've got to think that even besides the issue of the music, this would be a complex task for any kind of new spiffy transfer since the animation plays a huge part in this and god knows what condition that could be in.

I meant the album, not the film. I don't really care about the film, I just want Animals and The Wall in 5.1 hi-res audio.
