Oldmike!!! Run... I mean it... RRRRRUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNN!!!! The hordes are about to come down upon you like the wrath of God himself.

Please use the search feature at the top right of the forums screen to 'not get an answer' since New Line hasn't made any announcements yet.

Hairspray will be New Line's first HD DVD/Blu-ray release.
They will take it from there.

Unfortunately the only New Line title announced so far is Hairspray. I mean WTF?! Have you seen the previews? John Travolta looks hideous in Divine's role. Someone should have fired his make up artist or the person doing CGI.

Well, at least it will be probably be "day and date" so may help BD sales for a couple of weeks.

I'd be very surprised if INdy made it out before Star Wars, in fact I might even cry.

New line should have released Fracture as their debut HD film. IMO.

And it's made almost $100 million, and a musical in uncompressed PCM, yum.

If you knew anything about Hairspray, you'd know that he's SUPPOSED to look hideous. The original movie had Divine (google, NOT looking for a picture), and the stage show Harvey Firestein.

Then you need to do more research. Let's see, what sequel comes out next year is it....Indy 4? What possibly might they want to do for Christmas???

Well if Indy 4 comes out next year for christmas that places a Blu Release at least 2 years from now (give or take a little less or a little more) If Star Wars isn't released in the next 2 years on any platform I'm pretty confident we're really not going to see an HD version of it like George Lucas stated himself. However Lucas has a pretty strong connection to the whole INdy Series.

Maybe someone could explain this to me, why should I as a consumer give a rat's ass about PIP? It adds nothing to the enjoyment of the main feature and it could in fact reduce the amount of space available for high PQ and SQ in the main feature. How many of you really care about extras?

If it was a choice between higher PQ and SQ and extras, I would choose the former every time.

Extras are fine if there is extra room left over after a great encode of the main feature but do not add a bunch of extras at the expense of PQ of the actual movie.

Virtually all PiP on HD, and in the future on Blu will be standard-def only. The space it takes up will be minimal.

I care very much about extras, but I barely see any need for HD PiP. SD serves just fine for 99% of applications

Since Warner knows it has to be on two HD DVD-30 instead of one BD-50, they won't release it until they can do it with two Total HD.

These are titles that emphasise HD DVD's shortcoming, and Warner will do all it can to spread the shame.

Nothing to do with that. Either when they can sell a million copies easily or when Hobbit comes out, whichever comes first. Either way, if it comes before Hobbit they'll save the EEs to box in with Hobbit EE
