I ordered Match Point from JB Online one week ago, shipped in 24 hours and was in my hands within 48 hours. I am in Melbourne.

Come January 5th, one friggin' month since my order, I will write the most scathing email to jbhifi theyve ever read if I still dont have my copy of Match Point.
Money is not an option. It never was. I just want the movie, be it $12.00 or $45.00. Why I dont have it yet is beyond me.
They keep saying, "because of the Holidays" and "two weeks from dispatch...", by I could give two shits. This is ridiculous. I've bought from China, Japan, Canada...etc and NOTHING ever took this long.

I don't understand why people complain to the company they purchased from regarding postage issues... they have so little control over the item once it leaves their possession. I have had stuff take 6 weeks from the States, I have also had stuff arrive in 3 days using the same service.... the postal system is inconsistent at the best of times, not sure why JB have anything to do with it.

Agreed. JB may need to resolve the issue but it's not their fault. I mean hell, I just got Cowboys and Aliens from Amazon US and that took 28 days. This time of the year always results in delays...

eiknarf:
Rather than tearing JB a new one (which will likely get absolutely nothing solved any differently for you), perhaps consider that there have been many delays due to public holidays and adverse weather conditions. In addition to this, if you are in the US you may actually turn your gaze towards your postal system. They introduced new security and customs measures which have resulted in increased delays. As a matter of fact we're told that when lodging packages destined for the US at our post offices there can be delays of 3+ business days (sometimes more) above standard postage times due to the newer US customs rules. Why not simply email JB politely advising that you have not received the item, have waited the requested time and would now like the situation resolved. If JB is not willing to assist you in this way then advise them you can commence proceedings to gain your funds back with PayPal due to non receipt.

I'm sure it wouldn't come to that but being diplomatic is your best bet. As for not having to wait that long for packages, all I can say is that you've been very lucky. My "best" is waiting 83 days for something from Amazon CA.

But when given a choice of SHIPPING METHODS, I always pay for the fastest because waiting a month for something, anything, is not worth it. The problem, if ya read between my lines, is that there was never a shipping option (such as Media Mail, First Class or Priority)

You are correct, and I just wrote them a NICE letter thirty (not scathing) minutes ago.
As you can see one page back, TylerDurden received his copy on the 27th, and he ordered his after I ordered mine. So of course that's disheartening and gets me feeling kinda shitty, like, "oh, I guess things take a month in 2011".

From my experience - during the holidays, yes there is more for the Post office to do. But, that was when the Post Office was busy as hell (hence the workers going "postal" and killing everybody. The workload never ended) - Today they still work in the off hours to make up for it... especially when they're in jeapordy of going out of business. Last thing I'd want to do is turn MORE people away from my service =)
