Is it just me or was Sanchez vs Guida an amazing fight? From the time Diego walked up to the ring and started staring and talking to Clay, to the stare down before the glove touch, to the split decision winner. One of the best fights I've seen.

wtf is up with guida man. i know you saw those viscious looking elbows sanchez was doing from the guard. pointy elbows to the top of the dome like 10 times. mad respect to guida after this fight. took some nice punches, a square kick to the face and some nasty elbows like a man. at some point though i was feeling scared for his health. being hit with blunt objects to the top of your head cant be good for you. i think his brain is damaged or he is normally wacko with all the jumping and andrenaline he had post fight.

great fight though.

Dude is crazy! Even after the fight was over he was still jumping up and down talking to Rogan.

I watched the replay of the TUF finale last night. Some of the best fights I've seen in a while. I was glad to see Joe Daddy win. Guida is the man!

UFC 100 is coming saturday night. Here is what I'm hoping for:

I'm rooting for Mir. Lesnar definitely has the size and strength advantage, and most people think he will win. I'd like to see him get beat again. I just can't take him seriously as far as a mixed martial artist. He is huge, super strong and very athletic, but I don't think he has much skill.

I'm rooting for Alves. I think GSP will be tested like never before, and this should be a good fight. On the other hand, if GSP wins hopefully they will set up a fight between GSP and Anderson Silva.

Finally, I'm rooting for Hendo. During this season's TUF I found most of the fighters from the UK to be much more likeable than the guys from the U.S. with the exception of the coaches.

I'm pulling for Mir and Hendo.....and GSP(surprise!) but Alves is a tough challenge and I wouldn't be surprised if he stopped GSP. his leg kicks and overall striking is devastating. he beat the crap out of Koschek for 3 rounds.

IF GSP runs through Alves then he will have pretty much cleaned out the division, shown his dominance, and can look to other challenges.

I'm very excited, I try not to get too involved on who I want to win or lose so I can still enjoy the event as a whole.

on Spike every night this week around 8 Central they are showing the top 100 fights as voted by fans, just the highlights of the fights and short interviews but it's pretty interesting.

I'm gonna try and find a good bar near me that will be showing it. I think Hooters might charge an entrance fee.

how much do you spend on food and drink when you go to a bar for 3+ hours?

if you're a glutton and an alky like myself I can save money by staying home and ordering the $45 ppv. Plus I can watch it in my Justice League PJ's and pause, rewind, slo mo DVR etc....with my bong in hand

Ya, I've been enjoying the fighter commentaries on some of those fights. Kind of gives you a different perspective. Any votes for #1? I'll be the Bonnar/Griffin fight will be in the top 3.

It should be an interesting fight. This will be the first time that I can think of that GSP will be fighting a guy who is bigger, stronger and younger than he is. Alves has good skills, GSP is for lack of a better word a prodigy, and I think will have the edge on speed. But, it is an MMA fight and anything can happen. Who was expecting the whole Serra thing?

Well, two things:

Charter doesn't broadcast the match in HD and I don't have a DVR.

I ordered the last Lesner match though.

Exactly, the Serra thing puts everything in question but that's what makes MMA exciting.

Alves is big and strong and young but don't forget that Jon Fitch was and is an absolute monster at 170 and Koschek is as athletic as they get when they got dominated by GSP.

What ever happened to Fitch? He worked his way up and then disappeared after his GSP fight.

damn that sucks bro. it must be regional because I have Charter cable as well and they show all the UFC events in HD around here for $45.

I think I pay like $5 a month for my Charter HDDVR because I was grandfathered in. the rates may have changed now

Yeah for me it was:
$5 for the box
$5 for the HD upgrade
It would be $10 additional for a DVR

That's why I wanted to get a Tivo.

he beat Akihiro Gono and he is also fighting this saturday against Paulo Thiago, the guy who KO'd his training partner Koschek a few months ago.

here is the full card, main event and undercard:

Main Card Bouts:
-Frank Mir (12-3; #3 Heavyweight)* vs. Brock Lesnar (3-1; #8 Heavyweight)*
-Georges St. Pierre (18-2; #1 Welterweight)* vs. Thiago Alves (15-3; #3 Welterweight)*
-Jon Fitch (18-3; #2 Welterweight)* vs. Paulo Thiago (11-0)
-Dan Henderson (24-7; #5 Middleweight)* vs. Michael Bisping (18-1)
-Yoshihiro Akiyama (12-1; #9 Middleweight)* vs. Alan Belcher (14-5)

Preliminary Bouts:
-Mark Coleman (15-9) vs. Stephan Bonnar (13-5)
-Mac Danzig (21-6-1) vs. Jim Miller (13-2)
-Jon Jones (8-0) vs. Jake O'Brien (11-2)
-Dong-Hyun Kim (11-0-1) vs. T.J. Grant (14-2)
-C.B. Dollaway (11-2) vs. Tom Lawlor (6-2)
-Matt Grice (9-2) vs. Shannon Gugerty (11-3)

I really hope the Jon Jones fight makes it to the main card if some of the fights are short.

I knew Fitch had been fighting, but seems like he got bannished to the undercards for some reason.

he has had some..uh..not very exciting "safe" fights where he basically dominates the guy using wrestling.

I love a good ground battle but the average fan...not so much

I can't wait to see Akiyama in the Octagon.
