I find the site www.lddb.com (Laserdisc database) very informative. Easy to handle your collection & what you want etc.

Default Laserdisc, DVD, HD DVD, Blu-Ray......

Hello and good day,

I have all disc based formats in my setup, and they all live together just fine.

I have a large selection of Laserdisc's of which I will never part with, also enough hardware to see me well into retirement....laugh out loud

Great format and still collecting from Japan, USA and NTSC titles from RO-Disc in ''ROTTERDAM''

Kindest Regards to all

Even though my LD player has been retired to the storage room for now, I still have a few LD's left. I sold off many back in the day.

Remember paying a $100 for the Japanese import of SW Episode 1? What was I thinking?

Ha! I was just teasing you. Having said that, I do have a few CDVs and VCDs, but I do not own any HD DVD.

Hello Azyiu,

No problem(about the teasing that is,)

That sound right up my street. But can you post an address for this site, I tried a google search and all I could find was that it shut down as shop some years back. And I had to do a quick translation even then to find that much out!!?!!

Times they do change. Won this the other day. It was still a respectable chunk of change but then I happily accept that it is one of the last few LDs to roll off the line...

Well, add my name to the list of fans of 'retro' my prefered name for the brand of somewhat unusual collecting appeal we all seem to share on this thread...

Of course you do realize the DVD of ET has both the new and old versions, right?

What? I did not know that. Why can't they just leave things as original movie was?

I had a Pioneer DVL-919, but it brokedown some years ago.
I still have a few LD's in my closet gathering dust.
The audio quality on these LD's blows away anything on DVD.

Here's what I still have:

1. Jurassic Park - DTS
2. For Your Eyes Only
3. Apocalypse Now
4. The Appaloosa
5. My Name is Nobody
6. Excalibur
7. Die Hard
8. Predator
9. The Empire Strikes Back
10. Backdraft
11. Harlem Nights
12. The Last Boy Scout
13. Raiders of the Lost Ark
14. Army of Darkness
15. RoboCop 2
16. Playboy Video Centerfold: Anna Nicole Smith
17. IMAX: The Dream Is Alive
18. U2: Rattle and Hum
19. Final Approach
20. Scarface

I was able to get Phantom Menace for $2 in a junk set. I now have two copies.
