it's a more comprehensive documentary of the entire franchise. Each film is discussed in length since this bad boy clocks in at 7hrs.

I'm debating watching the movies first or this. I'm leaning more towards watching this first because at least it'll bring back all kinds of memories of the series, and all the good moments, along with discussing and talking about the history.

Any thoughts from the penis gallery?

Have you seen all the movies before? Me personally, I've seen them all like 30-50 times over, less on the newer ones, but I can tell you any fact from any film from memory....so....

Re-watching them all isn't really needed for me to enjoy the doc. I would think people that are new to the series should watch the films again, cause I'm sure they will get into the certain angles on each films, like the WTF ending of part 2, was the dream sequence ever actually filmed for part 3, Mrs. Jarvis' fate in part 4, the cuts in part 7, etc etc etc.

And it should be MILES better than HIS NAME WAS JASON. That was decent but too short and it gave far too much interview time to people that had nothing to do with the films.

I believe watching the documentary first will get the juices flowing to watch the films.

And then, during another F13 marathon, you could watch the corresponding chapter of the doc after each film, which is what I did with Never Sleep Again. It was great fun.

True. It was also poorly edited and all-over-the-place in its coverage. I found it to be annoying and disappointing. That's why this new CLM documentary is so exciting. The NEVER SLEEP AGAIN crew have proved that they really know how to put something like this together so I'm confident CLM will be outstanding.

yeah it felt like some VH1 special....no depth or real conversations. it was mostly just "Jason is cool....wasn't it neat when..." and the like.

as for the question about what to watch first....i've always watched extras after the movie, just feels more natural that way. so with this, i'll wait til i have the complete series collection and go through all of that first. i'll watch the first movie and then its disc extras and proceed with each movie that way and then go through the bonus disc. and then when thats all done, i'll tackle this doc. that way my mind will be refreshed as i havent seen these movies super often....so there wont be any "who/what was that now?" moments during the viewing of the doc. lol

So is the amount of copies that contain the bonus disc at CLM.net limited? Where does it say because it doesn't say anywhere on their preorder page. I'm gonna be pissed if I pay $5 more just to not get a bonus disc with my copy. Pretty misleading...

I think as long as it is still listed on their pre-order page then you should get the bonus disc, in fact it doesn't really say Limited, I swear it did before but maybe they pressed enough for their stock that they can fill all orders with the discs.

Someone mentioned previously someone who was interviewed late in the process is not featured on the main docs but is on the bonus disc anyone know yet who it may have been?

Let's see...ordering through DD, and I get: a 4hr bonus dvd and all the autographs for, basically, a few dollars over cost.
Great deal! Can't wait to receive my copy.

Unless you're just ordering it now, then you won't get the autographs.

Agreed. His Name Was Jason was really disappointing, especially considering how good Halloween: 25 Years of Terror was (well before Never Sleep Again was released).

Not limited. Their facebook said that they'll be selling copies with bonus discs on their website after the 13th.

I have to agree. When I saw "His Name Was Jason" for the first time I actually thought it was pretty decent but when I recently watched it a second time it felt pretty lame. It's indeed more like "Jason is sooo cool! Bla bla bla..." than anything else.
Don't get me wrong. I REALLY love the series but most of the people there just interpreted silly stuff into the character and the series that simply isn't there. I mean it's a horror series about a killer with a hockey mask who kills young adults. That's it. The comparisons that some people made there were pretty ridiculous at times.

His Name Was jason was like 60% of an interview with the dude that directed Wrong Turn 2. Why do we care what that guy has to say? He had nothing to do with any of the movies!

Stu Charno was obviously interviewed a lot longer than the 5 seconds he's in HNWJ, but you'd never guess.
