I wish they would have remastered the first one a few years back. was such an epic fun game for me. Boring for others because they don't appreciate Westerns.

One simple reason for that. There's no way they could read data off of the disc fast enough and display what we're seeing these days. The data transfer rate from a mechanical platter HDD is still leagues faster than reading off of a disc on the fly.

I haven’t heard anyone that I know who finds the first game boring. All of my friends dislikes western movies but they love RDR. And yeah I wish they would remaster the first but if they was planning on to they would have already did that.

Rockstar guys won't call the game boring, but i remember a few people saying the game was "overrated" and you have to ride your horse everywhere to missions also just collect berries and stuff. This game is not for those people.

I find that if I close down all apps, downloads speed up, especially if updating a game. Worth a try?

You really should. Even today, with the game being as old as it is, it holds up very well and is still incredibly fun and engaging. The gameplay, storytelling, score, character dialogue....it's all there.

It's even better if you own an XBone X. If any game received great benefit from the enhancements, it's this one. The results are absolutely amazing and pushed me into playing through it again, for what might just be the 20th time since it was released.

Can't imagine being on the fence about this game if you like other rockstar games. Looks set to change the landscape of gaming again, this looks far ahead of most titles out right now.

I just ordered the original for xbox one, looking forward to playing it again.

It’s no GTA.

I really like open world games & RS puts top notch quality into their worlds which only seem to get better with every release so for me there is no fence.

The crazy thing about the 105 gb is that is only the initial size. If it gets nearly as much DLC as GTAV, it might end up 130-140 gb.

Red Dead won't sell as well as GTA 5 did imo but will sell a helluva lot. I think GTA games have a slight advantage in that they have a modern usually very urbanised setting with a lot of moder day trappings to showcase like cars, music, TV shows etc. that appeal more. Red Dead however will definitely show there's interest in these types of games and enough to make money.

First one was a masterpiece imo. I still play it every now and then on my PS3(don't mind the dated graphics that much).

I've never been a GTA fan and I agree with this. It has more appeal than a western game. RDR2 is still gonna sell like hotcakes though, there's no denying it.

If this new one is a prequel. They still can and probably will. I never played the first one, but always wanted to.

Then I can see a remaster coming for sure. Everyone who didn't play the first one is going to want to play it now after they go through RDR2.

Wouldn't even be surprised if by making RDR2 a prequel was part of there marketing plan to rerelease the first one. Smart move!

Lets be honest, while this game will most likely be the best selling game of the year,in lifetime it will be happy to reach even 30 % of gta 5 overall sales. GTA 5 is a once in a lifetime beast,no other game in history will come close. Maybe only gta 6.

If they do remaster the 1st redemption,it will have minimal improvements, like la noir diffrences from ps3 to ps4. Id still buy it,as ive never played that.

I know internal and externall HDD sizes are getting bigger but it's still ridiculous and puts stress on consoles considering how SSDs are still very expensive to avoid those mechanical faults.
Agreed.

Disc reading at least in the beginning so we could play the game earlier instead of the longer installation times of up to an hour these days.

I wouldn't want to rent games that I want to own, so streaming would be much like renting, so I agree with you. I don't want to connect online just to play an offline game ever.

If you like exploring the open country wilderness on foot, with horses and by train, this game will be one of the best options for it, along with hunting and the 1800's setting.

The missions could get very repetitious as my main complaint. MosHighDef sums it up well below. A remaster of RDR1 would've been nice.
Undead Nightmare had a lot more mission variety compared to RDR's main story.

Good summary. I agree that many missions felt the same in the main story of RDR 1. The rest of the game was cool though, but I really didn't like how you have to press a run button to run, as you can only walk in the game, and when holding a weapon, then you can jog. I have no idea why Rockstar thinks dumping subtle analog pressure input is inferior to their button mashing multi-button approach which I'm not a fan of at all.

GTAIV's control set up was terrible when trying to go faster than a walk while strafing and firing at enemies as you searched for cover. Very clumsy and they seem to think it was an improvement. That's my main complaint with Rockstar right now, and I hope they have refined the controls for RDR2.

Idk Rockstar said there was no plans on a remaster of the first game and why would they make it BC if they was going to do a remaster. Everyone has said if they did a remaster they would have to remake the whole game cause there’s a rumor that the code was messed up.
