LG have admitted there is a disk vibration noise issue with the player (with some models) but, unfortunately, they are not doing much about it. I've had to improvise by placing my centre speaking on top of it but with speaker sponge in-between and another sponge under the player. No disk noise so far... If you have a quiet player you are the lucky ones, else, I would avoid this player.

You can do a small DIY job on the player to eliminate the vibration issues.
Did it plenty of times with a lot of PC builds that would create a sympathetic vibration in desktops and laptops. Open up the player, unscrew the drive from the frame (dont need to remove and unhook the wiring and just place thin sorbathane based pades (Isopads is a brand amazon sells). underneath and anywhere else the player touches the frame (maybe the top too). If it still vibrates than it's the actual drive and you are pretty much SOL. |

My player used to make an annoying buzzing sound during playback of certain 4k discs, but only during the first couple and last couple chapters of said discs. The rest of the time, the player would be whisper quiet. Apparently this is due to the way data is read from the discs, where it starts close to the center, moves outward, then returns back. The closer the data is to the center of the disc, the faster the drive will need to spin it, which causes a greater amount of vibration.
In trying to solve this problem, I removed the three screws on the back of the player, and took off the top cover. While the cover was off, I played some of the discs that were causing me problems, and did not hear any annoying buzzing noise. The drive itself was vibrating and did make some noise, but nothing I considered abnormal. It seems that the plastic cover can vibrate abnormally, and cause buzzing, if it is not on just right. Now that I put the cover back on, the buzzing has all but disappeared. Although I can hear the drive when it runs faster, the noise is no longer an annoyance. The sound is virtually drowned out by whatever movie is playing. Last edited by Caleb C.; 09-08-2017 at 12:10 AM. |

Wow never realized until last night how good 3D blurays look on this player. We watched one of my all time favirites, Age if Ultron 3D, and there was a noticeable increase in depth which I don't get out of my Sony BF650p player or my previous Samsung 8500 UHD player!

I hope LG would update their 4k player and its Netflix asap. I'm just glad my Oled tv is is Dolby Vision ready and i updated its Netflix app already. I literally shouted yeeees! when I saw the words Dolby Vision on the upper right corner at the start of watching "Okja".

Question about using HDMI Cable and Dolby Atmos Sound Bar with this player.
Let's say for example, I connect Dolby Atmos Sound Bar to this player using HDMI 2 (Audio Output Only). Which HDMI Cable should I use? |

Just be sure the LG is set to bitstream audio and secondary audio as well as things like dynamic range control and PCM down-conversion are turned off. |

Thanks for reply. So, I might use another one of this cable that I use to connect this player to LG 43UJ6300. If it is too good, then I will downgrade the cable. Last edited by ajy0903; 09-09-2017 at 06:06 AM. |
