Looks like they got a new car instead of just adding fake patina on to the restored original. The original Ecto 1 and 1A doors don't open that way. Also don't have that swivel out seat and it's missing electronics.

The door and pop out seat are probably just for the camera man.

The electronics could be on purpose since it’s been stored away. As in it’s unrestored and missing parts...within the movie world.

Again I do wish they’d explain what the roof stuff was for in the first place.

I do not see why they’d used the real original car anyway. Isn’t it used for show now? Probably easier just to recreate it then mess with it.

Of course this isn't the original movie Ecto 1 as it got an extensive restoration a few years back.

So..screw the haters I am beyond excited for this. The fact that
[Show spoiler]the kids are in the car makes me think of my entire childhood and even adulthood of how I always wanted to be a ghostbuster. Now I, and many others, can live vicariously through them haha.

Keep in mind this is one picture with zero context.
Maybe it's a surprise. Maybe that's Kate McKinnon under the blanket.

Was hoping to head down to Fort Macleod to check out the action, but it was raining all weekend. Ended up doing a Fast and Furious movie marathon instead,

I really do not believe Ernie Hudson is not already included.

There is no way in the world Jason Reitman would leave him out. The backlash he’d get would be horrible plus he loves the original movies to begin with.

For whatever reason he just has not technically signed a contract yet. Maybe there’s a surprise about his character.

Yeah, I find this all a bit strange. It’s a shame he isn’t on board yet, for whatever reason, but if that’s the case, I’d imagine it’s unlikely he’ll be added now as they’ve started filming. If he was in the script, they would’ve locked him in by now, surely? Maybe the director felt the story he wanted to tell only needed Venkman and Stantz back, as they were the original creators of the Ghostbusters, they were the scientists, whereas Zeddemore was the working class guy, who originally just wanted a steady paycheck?

Still, I can’t help think that fans will be a bit peed off if Ernie hasn’t been included, it feels like it might be seen as a missed opportunity.

Ya I thought of the others being the scientists too but I still extremely doubt Jason would not give him a part. We don’t know what’s been filmed. I can’t help but think it’s some technical issue. Imo he doesn’t seem genuinely upset that’s he’s supposedly not in it. Just...ya we’ll see.

It's clearly used for an actor when they chase a ghost. Like the seat on top of the Ecto 1/1A toys I had. Not only that they wouldn't need a cameraman to film attached to the car. Just a camera will do like they did on Knight Rider. They had a camera attached to KITT giving a cars eye view of the jump in the scene.

I'm convinced that the original cast will either be a surprise for the trailer, or, if possible, the movie itself.

Imagine the audience not suspecting anything and boom: "suck in the guts guys, we're the ghostbusters." I'd cry...and scream...and cry...

Well they’re not going for a surprise since they already officially announced Dan, Bill and Weaver. Even Annie Potts. They just need to confirm Ernie Hudson.

Rick Moranis could be a surprise.

If anything Rick is going to be the surprise as he has not been on camera in 20 years since his wife got sick and passed away. If they film anything with him it wont be where people can see it.

Nothing has officially been announced regarding the original cast. Just random comments either from Sigourney Waver or Annie Potts, or an Instagram comment by the Murray brothers’ clothing company, but nothing “officially” announced through the usual channels. Ernie is also the only one constantly doing interviews so he’s always asked about it, but everyone has said they would return if offered.

I’m sure they will all be there though based on comments. But it’s odd that Ernie said last month “I'd love to be a part of it. I don't have a deal yet, and I hope it works out,” which makes me think he’s been offered a part, but maybe he feels like he’s being lowballed.

Being officially announced does not matter. It’s been made 100% clear they’re returning on that Instagram post. How much more confirmation do we need?

Regardless they cannot use them as a surprise because they let it be known. Otherwise they’d still be beating around the bush.

So I had a chance to head down to Fort Macleod yesterday and see some of the filming.
[Show spoiler]Saw some great stunt driving action. Pyro going off. Was awesome. I now know what the extended rear seat is for.
Gonna be a fun movie. The crew had a meal break after 9pm, and there was Ecto 1 sitting in the street. One guy was sitting there having a meal. It was my 40th birthday on the weekend so I told him it was the icing on the cake. Asked if I could have a quick walk around Ecto, and he allowed me too. Couldn't take photos. Couldn't touch it, but was about 3 feet from it. Looked great! They wrapped up in Fort Macleod late this morning and they're back in either Crossfield, Beiseker, or somewhere here in downtown.

Read on twitter they actually have two cars here.
