I finished watching The Goonies last night and it looks incredible. Still a shame the sound wasn't upgraded but it is what it is. My copy from Amazon came in mint condition w/slip. |

Technically, Amazon doesn't price match the way traditional stores like Best Buy do. They just watch price trends and price accordingly. So they don't actually have a policy that forced them to stop selling it at $9.99. They likely just decided to drop it because now they had no incentive to continue selling it at that price with Best Buy out of stock. Then again, I wonder if Amazon even follows stock like that from other stores. It may have just been one of those 1-2 day price drops Amazon does sometimes.

Around the one hour mark, the audio cuts out for a couple of seconds, well it's more of a jump forward
Apparently this is only a problem on certain players. My steelbook 4K disc from Zavvi was fine but the disc from the HMV set had the problem. I'm not sure why this is |

Sometimes those one second audio dropouts is a one time glitch with the player not the disc. When you replay that particular scene again, the dropout is gone. I've had a few blu-rays that there wasn't any audio at all, but when I opened the tray and close it again, the audio was there. It must be something to do with the laser not registering or reading the disc correctly when its first inserted, and I have a Oppo 203.

I just checked my replacement disc. It came up resume as I'd left the previous disc in the same place and I was a bit nervous, but it worked fine
As I mentioned, I will double check my steelbook copy again, but at least my HMV set is all working |

It really bums me out that there are still missing scenes that have never been on any home video release yet.
Like a lot of fans, I grew up with a video recording off TV and the DVD/Blu-ray/4K includes some of the missing scenes from this cut as bonus material, but definitely not all of them. The most notable being when Data, Mikey, and Mouth slipped on the log. This scene is not present on the 4K release or any previous releases. ![]() I hope some day we can get an extended cut of Goonies with all of the deleted TV scenes reinstated in the film.
