Got my package from VS containing Breastmaster, Rad and Tammy, having paid the customs charges. On the customs label they noted the three items: One at $1. The next at $1. And the third at $34.99 That was for Rad, they even put the title of it on the declaration, so why they felt the need to declare full value on that and not the others is a fookin mystery.

Gotta be because they knew they wouldn't be able to replace it. With the others if they go missing they can just send out new copies, but with Rad they'd have no choice but to refund the customer, and they obviously would want to put a claim in with USPS or whoever, thus needing to declare proper value.

Aye, likely its "special" nature meant that they wanted to be insured for it. Although I don't recall previous UK buyers of Rad having any customs issues with it.

Yeah I got my copy in June marked down and customs free but, I guess even then they must have had a batch of spare copies for replacements etc. These last few are clearly the last of the last.

How lucky I was to get one and to be charged another £16 for the privilege, just to hammer home how fortunate I've been. Gotta love how things work out sometimes.

I am seeing a lot of posts complaining about international charges. Isn't it the fault of the country and not the sender? In this case the greedy USPS without question.

Take for instance your situation, doesn't Vinegar Syndrome declare the cost of the package to at least make it honest for one of the items (or was it total) while essentially lowering the cost of the other 2?

It is a fact that shipping out of the United States is way more expensive than shipping TO the USA.

With China to the USA it is practically free.

Matter of fact let me say it plainly. A small bluray size package cost $22.75 in shipping alone yet to get it here from say Germany it cost about $4. What is that??

I'll tell you what it is but then it goes off on a USPS hate rage by me and that doesn't fly.

Shipping rate complaints are a black hole on a topic that I thought was dedicated to Vinegar Syndrome releases.

And yeah why wouldn't they want to be insured for a more rare title??? That would make sense would it not? If it goes lost, they can at least get their money back.

Nah, nothing to do with the USPS. People kept saying that VS would put the customs declaration (value of the package) as like a dollar so that local customs limits would be circumvented, e.g. for the UK it's £15, so anything over that runs the risk of HMR&C slapping 20% on it as well as the £8 'handling fee' imposed by the Royal Mail for having to collect these charges. Unfortunately they did not mark my package as such, they declared Rad at full price with the two other UHDs (Tammy and Breastmaster) at a dollar each. So it got tagged for said charges.

how much total extra did you pay ? £16 ?

cause $34.99 + $2 is only $36.99
so 20% would be 7.4 $ which is only about £5

was there another charge ? handling is £8 ?

I just found out about the replacement program. I ordered my set during the black Friday sale and it arrived couple days before Christmas is my set good or do I have to send VS an email to get my hands on it?

I don't want to miss out. How can I tell and it's on disc 2?

NOTE: Due to a manufacturing issue, the VFX enhanced disc, Blu-ray Disc 2 has an error where it stops or gets pixelated - depending on your player, my Oppo and Samsung did one or the other respectively - and will skip forward. The only instance I noticed this happening hits early around the 5-minute mark. Vinegar Syndrome already has replacement discs replicated, so only a few copies that were shipped early were affected - copies that were shipped later will have the new corrected disc. If you have one of the bad discs, Vinegar Syndrome will be shipping you the replacement automatically. So worry not.

Look on the bright side, at least your copy was delivered to you. FedEx felt that I didn't deserve my copy of Rad and Beastmaster and gave it to someone else (or the driver felt like keeping my package, who knows, because they will not open a case for me, they will only do that for VS. And VS couldn't be bothered, telling me to give it a month. )

Handling fee is £8, £5.26 would be 20% of $34.99. £5.56 for 36.99. Not sure why it's £16, but they might have delved deeper and added the shipping to the total!

Seem to be very minor to the extent that most people seem to not easily locating the enhanced scenes.

Question is - if they are such few shots of enhanced VFX - could they have accomplished that with seamless branching rather than a 3rd disc? I know 3rd disc has old extras but those could have be accommodated in the other 2 discs I feel.

Most of the smaller labels avoid seamless branching.

Interesting to know. Any reason for this? I would think they might embrace it more as might save them costs.

When all of the orders from the Black Friday sale have shipped. Keep an eye on their social media pages for an announcement.
