Ruidoso? I used to live in that area. But god damn that was a terrible area. Alamogordo too. The movie theatres sucked. But Alamogordo got a new one after I moved. And White Sands Mall sucked in Alamo, and judging from their current website, they still do.

Not on my mind. But tomorrow I'm taking a few day trip to the Twin Cities and I'm excited. So glad to have 4-5 days off from work. I need it.

i did that, too.

the days off from work, not the trip.

i had about 50 hours of sick time so i took 3 days worth. and those, coupled with my normal 2 days off, gave me 5 in a row. got some stuff done around the house the needed to get done and i didn't have to rush any of it. it was nice.

I called in the other day to catch up on my sleep. it was so worth it. Probably won't get in any trouble since I'm a supervisor's fave.

Anyway, just got word we might have to postpone our Twin Cities trip. We're supposed to get a lot of snow tonight. It isn't snowing yet.

I hope we can still head out in the morning because I barely re-arranged my days off and used my one day of PTO to make this trip happen. And my supervisor is off until Saturday evening so nobody can change my schedule back until then.

Yeah they said if it gets bad overnight we would have to wait until Tuesday. I mean, I can't really complain since I'm not paying for the trip but I want to get outta here right away and not have to return to work.

wishing the grass was dry so i could cut it. i'd do it tomorrow, but my sister and brother-in-law are coming over to help me in the attic. so it looks like i'll have to wait until next weekend. which means it'll be worse since it'll be twice as high. and i can't stand cutting it when it's that high. i always have to go over some places twice.

It's going to grow that fast You should make your sister cut it while you and your bil work in the attic.

yes, it grows quite fast.

years ago, my dad had a garden in the back yard. he amended the soil back there so it would be more fertile and be easier to grow things. the usual soil around here, if you can call it that, has a lot of clay in it so it's a pain to plant anything in because it's so damn hard. but in the back, with that good soil, things grow like crazy. and since it's just grass now and not a garden, it has to be cut during the season at least once a week or it will get quite high and thick.

and it's bad enough that my trimmer has to be put in the shop due to the gas tank leaking; so i can't even get clean edges. all i can do is try to get close with the push mower. but even that doesn't get all the way up against the fence.

Didn't you say some kids run around your yard or near it? If they like to do that so much, maybe they won't mind cutting it for you. Put those kids to work Decomposing bodies make the best fertilizer.

And obviously the decomposing bodies was a joke. When I read Biz's post quoting mine, I realized that I mentioned kids and decomposing bodies ALMOST in the same sentence. the joke was about bodies in general not the bodies of kids

they cut through the yard when they walk home from school. to be honest i wouldn't mind about that, but they are starting to wear a path in the front yard. but since i've put up the "no trespassing" signs, i haven't seen any walking through the yard.

Good to hear kids at least have respect for the sign that you put up. They shouldn't be doing it in the first place but it's good that they've stopped.

Do you guys think that a person that has something you're looking for (classifieds) should tell you what they're willing to sell it for when you ask or do you think it's ok for them to not answer but ask what you're willing to pay? I guess both are acceptable and it just comes down to, well I asked you first kind of thing.
