And might I add, hooray! Football! Oh how I've missed it.

Its great to see that our defense is back on top. They looked really good against a strong Bama team, that eventhough its been depleated by the NFL, is still better than most. I'm also happy that we are returning to a run game that has been greatly ignored. And for being a Redshirt Freshman, Edmunds looks like a strong contender to be the next big thing at VT.

On the bad side, Logan Thomas isn't anywhere as refined as he should be for being three years in. Most of you would probably say "huh", but this brings me back to the Sean Glennon era where we had a terrible QB, but our running backs were stunning. The only reason we won games was running up and down the field - smashmouth football on the line. I hope that is something we can return to until we get a QB with some consistancy.

Helps to have someone to throw the ball to that can get open and catch. You also have to factor in the Mike O'Cain effect. I know he was at Clemson too. That being said I would run the ball every play and hope the defense is better because they haven't been the last 2-3 years.

If this were next year, ACC would have only 1 less Top 10 team than the almighty SEC

Early seasons rankings make no sense. So Oregon jumps to #2 after beating the greatness that is Nicholls St.? Seriously?

Reading through some stuff, I didn't realize that Georgia Tech's 70-0 win over Elon was the largest margin of victory for an ACC team ever.

I'm hoping Georgia beats SC this week and Bama beats Texas AM next week and then Louisville could move up to #6 after the UK beatdown!!!

That's surprising. I would have thought Bowden's Noles teams won by margins bigger than that against crappy opponents back when they were a powerhouse.

That's exactly who I thought of as well, but I guess he took the foot off the peddle.

Also odd, Georgia Tech scored 68 against UNC last year. But that was a 68-50 game.

I think it was more of a case of Ohio State looking like crap and dropping. If I had a vote I would have had Clemson above Ohio State as well.

My thoughts as well here. I'm all for big 10 representing, but OSU did not impress in week 1.

No signature here, please move along.

Yeah Clemson right now should be no worse than 2. I hope one day College football does away with polls until after the 4th or 5th week. I know wishful thinking that will probably never happen but it's nice to wish.

How good or bad we are projected to be has absolutely no bearing on my excitement for college football! I am excited and hopeful at the beginning of every football season!

So I attended the game Saturday. The 2 biggest things I took away from the game was this...

1.) ZERO penalties! Let me say again...ZERO penalties! We may not be the most talented team but by god we just might be the most disciplined!

2.) ZERO turnovers!

General Neyland Maxim #1: The team that makes the fewest mistakes will win.

You might destroy us but it doesn't matter because your weak ass schedule is going to knock you out of any type of major contention. lol

A quite possible 12-0 season would be hard to not put in the NC game, but we'll see about that, and no I'm not predicting we'll go to the NC game either.
