I would imagine Kurosawa's Dodes'ka Den will be quite a while coming out since it was released on DVD just last year(2009) and also the upcoming First Films of Akira Kurosawa box-set since it's due in August and is DVD only.

I don't see any of the Eclipse sets coming on Blu for a looooooong time. The whole point of the Eclipse series is to release films on DVD that would otherwise remain unreleased. Their barometer is far lower.

I've seen Miley Cyrus twice in concert, I can't help it, I'm a sucker for Disney pop artists.

Don't get me wrong, I would have loved to have attended and I've stated here multiple times that Last Year at Marienbad is an excellent film and my favorite Criterion blu release, but I thought we were allowed to have interests outside of film. And you're correct LCD Soundsystem tours somewhat often (3 times in 6 years for me) but have you been to one of their shows? Fun times.

All good though as I see you are a fan of the Amazin's. Life long fan here from Woodside, Queens, a stone's throw from Citi/Shea. Will be at the game tomorrow vs the Philthies.

I've stated this before and I'll state it again. Criterion needs to keep mixing it up with the packaging. I want more paper digipaks! And not the original crappy blu-ray ones, but like the Brakhage set or the many DVD sets. While I am already expecting Seven Samurai to be released in a package similar to Brakhage, I'm thinking Breathless will be a good test to see if they will start releasing more paper digipaks. I'd love to have a mini golden Mishima: Life in Four Chapters blu-ray digi.

I was honestly just kidding. And that was what I was getting at...LCD soundsystem tour pretty often. Even for a documentary about LYAM I would have opted to see that...

And I was born and raised in Woodhaven then moved to Flushing so same here, life long fan...Havent been back to NYC this year but I went to the Citi opener and second game during last year's christening.

If I had the option I would have gone to both since LCD was playing 4 nights. Unfortunately I bought the concert tickets months ago and found out about the screening last week. Just an unlucky coincidence. As mentioned in the New Yorker article about the documentary, there is a chance it may screen at the NYFF so maybe I will get my wish after all.

I don't mind the digi style criterion cases like By Brakhage, I am hoping formore sturdy stock but I love the release.

The Mishima case is great I won't let anyone finger print it up at all!

My favs of those cases are The Furies and Vampyre that come to mind.

It's a mystery to me whether/how mine's shipped this time. Last few times they got it right and DHL-ed/post-officed my shipment, with tracking numbers even, and they arrived Mon or Tue. (First time it was UPS, with a tracking number, took a while since it wasn't sent to a street address.) This time around nothing's arrived and there's not a tracking number either, so dunno wtf they did (except for charging me). E-mail time I guess.

Have you checked the "Orders" page under your account at their website? There should be a linked tracking number there. I haven't received my order yet either, but my tracking number says it's coming tomorrow. It's a bit surprising since they are usual on time if not early.

For some reason, not all orders through Criterion's site receive tracking numbers. Even on the My Orders section on their site I have old orders listed with no tracking numbers. The last order I received with no tracking number was my order of "M" and "Walkabout" that both arrived at the same time ahead of schedule. It's nothing to worry about and it's not uncommon. You guys just need patience. Criterion pre-orders aren't guaranteed to arrive by the release date, so sometimes you may get things early and other times after the release date.

It could have changed since, but there wasn't one last night, I checked. And in the past the shipping email had it. But didn't get a shipping email, just an order received email.

Just used the GSA BN code for $18+ (that's pretty cool - Stagecoach & M for cheap). A few more days until this code is kaput. Hope you guys are taking advantage it.

I tried to watch Yojimbo again last night, I kept finding myself grabbing the remote and turning it up, man I hate subtitles but dubs are just flat out the wrong way to enjoy films in a foreign language, isn't that right guys?

I am gonna try and finish Yojimbo tonight.
