Win or lose, March Madness matters more to us.

And about Teddy, would love for him to come back for our 1st year in the ACC, but it's pretty well known that he won't.

Arizona State has always embraced the legacy of Pat Tillman, one of its most celebrated alums. This year, the Sun Devils are taking it to a new level while also educating the current players about the linebacker-turned-pro-turned-Army Ranger.

Before each home game, players had always walked through the Tillman Tunnel. But the tunnel has gotten a makeover, complete with inspirational signage, a PT-42 "The Heart of a Champion" logo and a photo veil of Tillman the players will run through to take the field.

As players wait to take the field, there is also a television in the tunnel that will show highlights of Tillman's time at ASU.

"The way Pat lived -- the Sun Devil Way -- is something we teach our team about every day," head coach Todd Graham said. "Now the final thing they will see before taking the field is the embodiment of everything he stood for -- and everything we hope to emulate and accomplish."

Eight months after the Sept. 11 attacks, Tillman turned down a $3.6 million contract offer from the Arizona Cardinals to enlist in the U.S. Army. He became a Ranger, but was killed in a friendly fire incident in Afghanistan in 2004.

Three area companies contributed to the funding of the tunnel's re-design, and it was unveiled Wednesday to the team's senior leadership group, who stood in the tunnel and watched Tillman highlights.

Arizona State opens its season Thursday night against Sacramento State. The Sun Devils open the year on the cusp of the top 25 after closing out last year with three straight wins and a victory over Navy in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl.

"Pat's principles are such an important part of everything we do," said Steve Patterson, ASU's vice president for university athletics. "The values he represented and the tradition he built upon helped bridge the gap between the field and the community, so it is fitting that this tunnel bears his legacy."

That is really, really cool. Inspiring stuff.

yes. yes it is. i love seeing and reading about stuff like this. it's such a tragedy what happened to him, but i have to respect a guy that turns down all that money to join the service. so sad that he got killed before he had a chance to return home.

It looks like Virginia Tech's sellout streak is going to end tomorrow. They had sold out their last 93 games dating back to November 21, 1998, but their AD said he doesn't expect the game against Western Carolina to be a sellout.

Yeah. Apparently this is happening across College Football - attendence is dropping everywhere. The Hokies have been lucky since there is no local competion. After a disappointing season and (what looks to be) another disappointing season ahead, its going to be tough to sell the cupcake games.

Yeah, Neyland Stadium holds 102,000 +. Against Austin Peay last week attendance was 97,000 and some change. Even without the sell out we had the 4th highest attendance in college football.

Funny what winning will do for you. This Saturday will be CU's first pre game sellout against a FCS or D1AA school in their history. It's only the 5th time ever fora FCS school. The other 4 were all against Furman which is in Greenville, 30 minutes from Clemson.

Going about as expected. UCF up 38-0. FIU is terrible. Never expected them to give us a game.

The most interesting football game taking place in Miami tonight wasn't the UCF-FIU game. It was the high school football game between the #1 and #2 nationally ranked teams Miami Central vs. Booker T. Washington (Miami). This was the first time a #1 and #2 nationally ranked HS football team played one another since 2009.

Booker T. Washington beat Miami Central 28-17. These two high school teams already have something like 12 D1 recruits, including 5 of the top-150 ranked recruits of the 2014 class. Three of them have committed to the Canes for 2014.

I think he meant which ESPN channel. There are like a dozen of them nowadays. But no, for some reason they didn't air the game. I did manage to find it online and watch some of it though. The size of some of the linemen on the teams almost looked like professionals. There looked to be quite a few 260+ pound kids, well over 6 feet tall.

Big game for Miami today. This is a huge one for Al Golden, it is year three of his regime and when his program should start to turn the corner. A win against Florida would show how far we have come. Needless to say, I'm pretty pumped up for the game. Let's go Miami!!!!

It's All About The U, baby!!!
