It's not perfect but a weird film like this lends itself to a variety of cover designs. If I didn't use the original key art, I might've put the car schematic on the cover.

Looks fantastic. I noticed that in the middle finger pictogram (which looks good btw) you must've taken a resource that was originally a fist and turned it into a hand that is flipping off, but didn't erase the knuckle of the middle finger beneath the thumb... Just a minor continuity issue is all.

Also, are you not planning on adding a title treatment to the front?

Does anyone know what font is typically used on the blue bar that says "Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy" etc?

I'm a huge fan of minimalist posters and have bought and collected a boat load over the years for movies I own, like, or just posters that are awesome.

I've started building a collection around them, and here are the first two attempts. Thoughts?

I actually wasn't planning on a title. I figured the pictograms are designed to be understood by anyone, plus if this were a studio release, there would no doubt be a huge sticker with the title on the shrinkwrap!

Believe it or not, I found the middle finger pictogram and it didn't even occur to me that there was an issue. I've gone back and fixed it.

Thanks for the kind words. There will be more artwork soon enough...

It's wonderful. Have you considered individual covers for "The Rescuers" and "The Rescuers Down Under" since they're only being released as a two-pack?

Thoughts? Great minimalist artwork... In all honesty, take your label (which looks a little too close to Criterion's) that's on the spine and wraps around the front and back off.

The same question I asked Dustin of the "Dustin Collection" fame on the previous page applies to this? Is the "Garth Collection" (which is NOT the Criterion Collection) to be a shared cover or a personal cover of which is being shown in the custom cover art thread? Nice artwork on the covers aside... I just don't get the idea of taking a renowned label and putting your name on it as if it's your movie and your the owner of the rights to distribute.

If I'm coming off too harsh, that is certainly not my intention. I'm just trying to understand this trend that is happening in designs lately. By all means do what you want with your designs, I would just like to encourage a little originality that's not ripping off Criterion. Also, if these are meant to be shared, I wouldn't want to download and print something that has your name on it too. I mean lol.

THIS IS BEAUTIFUL. I want to print this for myself. Any way I could get the original file for it? These threads get so confusing sometimes.

From what I hear, it depends on the person you meet. While most of these services have a policy of not re-printing copyrighted material, the staff does not always implement it. As long as the cover you want to print doesn't include a barcode or any "proof of purchase" tags, they usually let it slide.

It may be practiced either harsher or more leniently in Norway. I'd love to hear how it goes.

Technically, a professional copy-shop should be able to print custom covers at their correct size. Just make sure they don't introduce any scaling. Tell them to print the file at native size. All custom cover designers make files with the correct dimensions built-in.

Default James Bond 007 Custom Blu-ray Cover

Moonraker.
Another beautiful poster from Dan Goozee. He always does these wonderful exaggerated perspectives, and his likenesses are second to none.

Next up: Tim Dalton's Living Daylights - with Norway's claim-to-fame title song by a-ha!

I assume you need the .PSD file? Flattened? I have to go to work soon so I'll get back to you later today.

And thanks!

And I agree - this stuff can get confusing. I'm just starting out myself.

You aren't coming off harsh at all; to be honest, the only reason mine is on there is because I like to have a uniform look to my collection so when they're all lined up, the spines have that uniformity.

If anyone actually wants any of these, it'd be easy to just take off the collection spine piece and do it straight minimal... I'd have no problem at all doing that for folks.

Judging by the A, B, C and R, I'd say it's Eurostile in either Bold or with a thin outline. Can't say for sure 'cause I don't have that font installed anymore...

So you have a Criterion Collection I'm assuming and you want the rest of your titles to form to that? Ok. That makes sense I guess.

No, I just want my entire collection with a uniform look; yes, it's a criterion knockoff, but frankly that's why it works because Criterion's setup is built around minimalism and it's a clean uniform look that works.

Again, if anyone ever wants something that I post on here I'd gladly remove the collection piece for them, so I don't see the big deal if I want to have that look or not?

I forgot to post how much I liked the Planes Trains... cover when I saw it yesterday. It looks fantastic. Not sure how people feel about the middle finger but I wouldn't mind seeing John Candy's suitcase or John Candy himself as a pictogram in it's place.

When you look closely at the poster, especially Roger Moore in his spacesuit, you realise just how ridiculous a concept "James Bond in space" was/is.

Still, it's no Die Another Day
