Okay, I'll give you that, me too, but any other game you would have beaten that boss and put it away, or maybe played through one more time on "hard" or to get the "good" ending or to try another character class. But this one you played over and over and over, and after that third...or twelfth time, after succumbing to glitches, after you still have yet to receive that pair of boots or that helmet, do you still get that feeling? After that first time, the only thing that gave me that thrill was getting a decent loot reward, and that thrill was not often felt.

Under 4 Minute Crota Kill. We can do this, just need a Hunter and someone to be the timekeeper.

Admit it, beating a difficult boss in a well made game feels good. Beating bosses in this game does not feel good. In fact, most of the time, beating this game, I felt cheated, because the goal of the game is to get loot and upgrade the loot. The rewards do not match the effort or the time. Back to the first, I think it's exactly that feeling of getting cheated more often than not that makes you want to cheat and cheese. It perhaps gives more satisfaction than beating the game legitimately. Like you're getting back at someone for screwing you over.

In retrospect, from a pure videogaming point of view, it's been a lot more of a letdown than a thrill. And yeah, there were times when I was pissed off, because some guys had, you know, full sets of raid armor, minus the helmet, from the VoG, but had never beaten the whole thing, just from cheesing the oracle checkpoint, while I was stuck at level 29 for weeks, having beat the thing multiple times legitimately. That kind of thing wears on you a little bit, too.
The thing is, any loot you are given after beating these different checkpoints…..at least you’re getting something for completing those parts…..even if it’s shards, parts, or glimmer after you break it down.

But to sit and waste 2+ hours on 1 part of the game…..doesn’t make any sense to me……b/c if you just turn it off and come back to it later….you’re aren’t accomplishing anything…..b/c you aren’t moving the game or your character forward.

So in that instance…..why is it frowned upon to take advantage of a cheese spot or a glitch while it’s available??

that's funny!!!

it's true though....i bought the game to play the whole thing....not just 1 part each night.

that was kind of self-inflicted though.

why not stop playing the raid if it got to that point for you?? like i posted for JJ above....if the game got to that point for you....it was self inflicted based on how much time you sunk into it.

i mean, what's the purpose of having 3 characters all at level 30/31/32?? my warlock was my 1st character....i've gotten so used to playing w/him that i hat the way the hunter and titan feel when playing w/them. to run a daily/weekly/nightfall w/a character that i don't enjoy playing with....that would wear awfully thin for me.

i still can't believe some guys on here run 3 dailies/weeklies/nightfalls everyweek or every day!!

i find it tedious when the weekly and nightfall are the same mission!!

I recently killed my Titan because if this to make room for another warlock. I might keep the hunter around for a bit though.

I need the second chest as well. We missed it on our run. Is there a sure fire way to get it?

Okay, I hope I have this straight:

8:00 EST

1) Ric
2) Mike
3) Josh
4) Andy
5) Andy's friend
6) Jason? (first dibs), Casey? (second dibs)

Ken (if later?)

Need confirmation from Jason or Casey. Jason has first dibs, but if he can't commit yet, it will fall to Casey. I should just leave this list-making to Mike, so people can abuse him instead!

kill the 1st shrieker.....kill the 2nd shrieker then haul ass to the end of the tunnel.

the door won't start closing until you cross the threshold of where that 2nd barrier is......at least it seemed to work that way for us last week.

I'm not saying in general that it's frowned upon or not, that's personal, but the question was whether this game in particular makes us feel more compelled to cheat or cheese to begin with. I think it does.

I did stop playing altogether when it reached a point where the social aspect was no longer enough to offset the drudgery of the game. I think I point worth considering, though, is when a game gets to the point where you are no longer wanting to play the game in the manner it was designed to be played (cheesing) is it really worth playing anymore? And as I suggested, it may be, because sometimes the simple act of cheesing may give some morbid sense of satisfaction that you are getting back at someone for doing you wrong. I don't know.

No I didn't ask, he asked about getting the chest, I responded, and then you asked him to join your group.

I have been finding it quite frustrating to get into a raid group lately. Not looking for hand outs, just folks to play with.

Not really in the mood for destinylfg, but it looks like I may need to go looking there if I can't get to raid with forum folks.

IDK.....i've felt that way about a lot of games.....Assassin's Creed 3 comes to mind. that game had so many glitches or little things that would wear on my nerves.....but i stuck it out b/c i wanted the platinum. i sunk too much time into it to just put it to the side.

if there was a way to work through that game faster, i would've jumped on it in a heartbeat.

if i'm running a mission solo....i'll use a cheese spot.....just to make it easier on myself instead of having to start over from a checkpoint.

but i've only found a handful of spots in the game where a cheese spot is absolutely necessary if you don't want to chuck your controller through the window.

w/this new raid, it seems like Bungie was having fun w/everyone. there's only 4 parts to it really.....i can remember thinking to myself we'd be able to knock it out in an hour and a half no problem......then the witch before Crota showed up.....and then Crota himself.

there went that thought!!!

No snubbing intended. It looks like we were posting about the same time. I'm always up for any of the gang around here to join-in, but to be fair, we need to accept folks in the order they ask to be included. As you are around third on the list for the sixth spot, I'll shoot you a request if you're online and we have a spot available.
