Watched:
"The Gray Zone." I'm not usually a fan of holocaust films, but a friend of mine felt that this was one of the most disturbing. And in a way he was right; some parts were just downright sickening (not because they were graphic or anything, but more because of the brutality). Moreover, the subject of the film was something worth studying (the idea that some concentration camp members assisted Nazis in exterminating others, and were rewarded for it). These things made it worthwhile watching; everything else (plot, characters, filming, etc) seemed okay, but never fully engaged me. 3.5/5 "Ponyo." Yep, watching depressing holocaust stuff made me wanna see the latest Miyazaki film, and it was sooo cute! It has a decent amount of unique and imaginative imagery. The story is simple, but the characters are very likable (even the bad guy). I probably like it better than "Howl's Moving Castle," but not quite as much as the other ones I've seen. That'd give it a 4/5. |

Ponyo. 9/10
Visually stunning and just a fun watch in general. I didn't give it a 10 only because there were a couple of times where I didn't know what the hell was going on ![]() |

A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors 2.5/5
Liked it a lot better back then. It was even one of my favorites. Don't know what happened ![]() Freddy vs. Jason 2.5/5 Goes without saying... The Witches 5/5 Really beautiful movie about witches with great make up effects and a fantastic Anjelica Huston. Loved it since I was a child. Pure nostalgia! Need a Blu-ray NOW! The Mummy (1932) 4.25/5 Saw it for the first time today and it was very good. But there are a lot of paralles to Dracula (1931). That was a bit unimaginative imo, hence my score went down a bit. But Boris Karloff gives a great performance once again! Last edited by BladeRunner2007; 03-09-2010 at 11:52 PM. |

Black Dynamite 9.5/10
So DAM FUNNY!!! I can tell that with repeated viewings it will just get better and better. Near the end of the film there is this one scene that is probably one of the funniest things I have ever seen in a movie. I'm really hoping that this becomes a little franchise. Funny as hell!! |
