I am getting close to 4,000 which is crazy.... and embarrassing. You tell someone you own 4,000 blu-rays and they look at you funny. But if you tell them you own 4,000 books, they look on you with admiration.

That is why I don't like telling people how many I own. I just say I am collector and if they ask how many I own, I say i don't count but it is over 100.

I can imagine. People look at me funny when I tell them I own 1,000 and some of them are even friends that are so-called "movie collectors."

I don't have time to re-arrange my collection, I really only use this as a database as I sometimes forget what I own.

I do not care how large my collection is to others....everyone should be happy with what they have no matter how big or small their collection is.

The sad thing is there are over 500 movies on my wishlist that are out on Blu-ray....I really do have an addiction

I'll likely hit the 1,000 mark sometime this year.

There's also a good chance that I've forgotten to add a few movies that I've picked up, so my current number might be slightly higher than what is listed here now.

At some point I'll "audit" my entire collection to make sure everything is in there.

I pretty much do the same thing. I need to use this database so I know what I have and what to watch. I also get the "how many blus do you own" comments all the time. I couldn't care less. It's mine and I'll do what I want with my hard earned money.
Isn't it funny that someone can drop $25k or more on a boat, use it 5-6 times a year and never get a raised eyebrow. But spend that on movies? You're insane.
By the way, pushing 2500 and proud of it.

I gave up trying to rationalize to others why I buy movies as opposed to stealing them online. Never really cared what people thought to begin with. Having said that, I'm rapidly approaching 2,000 titles. I live alone so I get to decorate my apt with wall-to-wall movies

Well i passed 1000 a while back. I'm now at 1228 Bluray.

If we count my 1044 DVD's as well then my total is 2272...

I expect my overall total will stay pretty similar for a while as I watch unwatched DVD's and get rid of the blind buys I don't like and upgrade the ones i do.
