Default AV Receiver

I have my XV15 for about 2 months now and I love it. I was watching Sinister and the creepy parts sound so awesome with this sub. I have a question now for anyone that can help me out. I am thinking of upgrading my receiver to the Denon 3313ci or the Marantz 6007. I am currently using HSU front and center speakers which I love. I heard the Marantz has a warm sound and the sound quality is amazing. I am leaning towards this AV receiver but wanted to know if it has that powering action scene sound as well as the warm sound it has been mentioned on other websites. Or is the Denon 3313ci better? Which one will sound better with my XV15?

The receive won't really make a difference with your sub because it already has an amplifier. The "warmth" of the receivers amp would only affect passive speakers.

The deciding factors should be things like budget, features and the type of speakers you have. So long as you buy a mid-level or better receiver from a reputable company it's hard to make a mistake. Denon, Marantz, Onkyo, they all make some pretty solid equipment.

Thanks. I decided with the Marantz SR6007. Like the style and the reviews have been great.

Hi all, quick update.

We have two large shipments inbound----amps and drivers. The amps are due to arrive here mid week(around the 12th -13th). They are on US soil now.

The drivers are scheduled to arrive a day or three later.

Once everything arrives we will be able to fill all back orders fairly quickly. I'd say within 2 business days. (yes, there will be a couple of long days here..

I know this is a bit longer than my original estimates and I do apologize for the any inconvenience this causes.

Just wanted to add that the sub is well worth it. Awesome sound and customer service. Definitely will not be disappointed.

Oh not even close...

We have a *large* amount of inbound inventory. We should FINALLY be on "next day shipping" for all models....even the XS30.

Were you thinking of adding a second one Darylrsv4?

Yes.

My question to you is placement? I really only have 2 options. My front wall is full, so option #1 (if you look in my gallery) would be between amp rack and couch ( where there is a magazine box) or option #2 would be behind couch between right surround and window.

What would you recommend?

I have the perfect place for it in my setup if you are having trouble fitting another one in!

Seriously, though, I would love to add another as well. I'm "getting by" with one, but I think adding another will definately give me what I'm looking for.

**Sadly, I STILL have not updated my gallery yet. What the heck am I waiting for??**

I's start with the second XV15 behind the sofa. In fact, if you have time to experiment....try BOTH xv15s back there. As long as you get the bass level correct there won't be any directional issues. And this will maximize available headroom and should also result in the smoothest FR at the seats. Either way(both behind you, or just the second XV15) you'll have headroom to spare though. Reference level capability + 3-6dB from say 15-80hz for example.

A new order? I'd say it will ship Monday +/- a business day.

Amps will be here within 24 hours but we're still waiting on an update on the 15" drivers.

Yes, sorry about that. 3-18-2013..

BTW, please contact me before ordering for your 5% off coupon(returning customer discount).

Ideally both(drivers and amps) would arrive simultaneously but if one has to be here first----I'm glad it is the amps. We have to program each one and then we run a couple of verification checks to ensure everything(output, filters, etc) are all within spec.
