Yea no surprise there. They need time to figure out what exactly they're going to do with this film.

Glad they are giving it time to get it right. Given the circumstances, I will gladly wait the extra time to let them put out the best product for all involved. Great news.

Highly, highly doubtful. Especially considering it'll be the lead in summer film for 2015, just like 'Fast Five' was a few years ago. This one doesn't stand a chance at flopping.

If you mean from zero to point zero zero one percent chance of that happening, you bet.

I'm cool with it coming out in 2015.

If 7 wasn't on the rushed schedule that it originally was on, it probably would have come out in 2015 anyways.

It's a good idea they are making it a Spring release as well. Now the cast and crew have time to mourn.

Damn it.

Fast & Furious 7 is no longer my most-anticipated film of 2014.

2 reasons for the long delay. 1. They still need to rightly figure out a way to complete the film that fits the plot and respects Paul Walkers passing. 2. The actors have other projects lined up that cannot be delayed because of the previous film they where shooting.

Whoever thinks that this movie is going to flop is dead wrong. This movie is going to make dark knight type of numbers. but that's just my opinion

Dwayne Johnson if I'm not mistaken is shooting a movie in late January or February. He can't sit around and wait. If they need to shoot more scenes with him, he can probably resume work later in 2014. At least with an April 2015 release, Chris Morgan and the Producers have more time to properly re-work the script and resume shooting at a more appropriate timetable.

I know 2015 has a crowded slate of movies, especially in the summer, but anyone who thinks this will flop is crazy. With the cliffhanger from Fast 6 and Jason Statham being introduced as the big baddie, this was probably one of the most anticipated films of the series. I think it will do just as good as Fast 5 did 2 years ago in the Spring as well.

And look at the release order of the most recent movies.

Fast & Furious: April 2009

Fast Five: April 2011

Fast and Furious 6: May 2013

Fast and Furious 7: April 2015

The movies are still staying the same 2-year release schedule as the previous ones even with the delay.

Hopefully the furious 8 Alaskan drift comes out winter 2014. But in all seriousness, I'm kind of disappointed this is coming out a year later. Is James Wan really going to only work on this movie until then? I'm sure he had other projects in mind. Do you think it's possible that they are taking the extra time to really give this series a real ending? I hope not but you never know I guess.

I think they're simply trying to buy themselves time to rework the film with what they've got in the can already. Plus as someone else mentioned earlier, they have to allow some of the other actors the opportunity to move onto their next projects and return to film additional scenes(if necessary) at their convenience. Jordana Brewster probably doesn't have much if anything lined up in the future besides Fast & Furious movies. Jason Statham and The Rock on the other hand are pretty busy.

As for whether or not they're wrapping up the series, I suppose that's up to Vin Diesel. If his heart ain't in it anymore after Walker's passing, Universal could attempt to continue making these without him, but other than a Hobbs spinoff, I don't know where you go without the two lead actors. At least when Diesel bailed the first time, they had Paul Walker available to do 2 Fast 2 Furious. But when he also walked away from the series, they were left with Tokyo Drift whose weak box office returns nearly killed off the franchise before it was resurrected by the original cast's return 3 years later.

The key is Vin Diesel. They can keep making these without Walker. Brian O'Connor was just a background character in the 6th film and that was the biggest hit of the series. But if they lose Toretto AND O'Connor, they'd be wise to just wrap things up and end on as high a note as possible under the circumstances.

This. All of this. Tragedy or no tragedy, I'm not going to act spoiled and demand a film as soon as possible. Does it suck for those who anticipate the release? Yeah, but it'll make the payoff that much sweeter knowing they took their time to make F&F7 a quality action film and not just some rush job.

If anything, I'm really rooting for this film to be one of the surprise hits in a 2015 year that is going to be LOADED with blockbuster films.

P.S. April/early May is a great time to release this before the summertime madness.

Jordana was actually in the middle of filming season 3 of Dallas when Paul died, and she is scheduled to return back to work filming season 3 of Dallas the second week of Jan.
She had started filming on season 3 in October into the thanksgiving break in November.

(this is actually the second time this sort of thing has happened with a production she is working on, last year around the same time Larry Hagman died from his fight with Cancer while Dallas was in production on its 2nd season)

2015 will be a huge year for films and I'm glad it'll be out in 2015 instead. It gives the crew more time to do some rewrites and I'm sure they'll do a great job with it.
