Don has been posting updates on Facebook along with some great looking screen caps, it's taking a while and lots of work but they're making progress! I can't wait to see it when it's done.

I'm confident when i say it won't. In one of last weeks facebook posts I asked if it was even remotely possible that we'd see it this year and the response I got was that since they were still working on it they couldn't say. They mentioned in the post about some problems with the way the film was spliced together causing more work for them then they anticipated. They then went on to say something along the lines of so far they've made it through 11 minutes or so before finding more problems, which leads me to think they still have a large portion of the film to work through. Halloween 2016 seems like a possibility, but at this point I wouldn't rule out 2017.
Here was the thread...

Synapse Films
SUSPIRIA update from Don.

Please note that SUSPIRIA is still in production. It does not currently have a release date, and will not until it's finished. Just when that will be is hard to say, but we are busting our asses to put out the best version of SUSPIRIA since the first prints were struck back in '77, and we will not rush it to make a release date. We appreciate your patience on what we know is a VERY highly anticipated release. Thank you.

Ross Dudle Awesome. Any idea which Argento title will be released first?
Jerry here: Tenebrae---> Phenomena----> Suspiria

Not looking for a release date, but is it possible... note that I said "Possible"... That this will see a release this year, or is it looking more like a 2016 release. Not looking for a date or even a month, just curious how much estimated work is left and whether you feel that your current rate of work leaves a 2015 release as a possibility, or if the signs are pointing to 2016 (or later).
Edit: also, thanks for another great update! I love reading these!
Synapse Films Impossible to say at this point. It is still in production.

Ross Dudle Any possibility you guys will release Opera and/or Trauma?
Synapse Films Not currently planned.

Danny Duchesneau Tousley Synapse Films 4K Blu-ray will be out by the release of the Argento titles, are you planning on releasing them on 4K Blu-ray?
Synapse Films WAY to early to say.

David Dunn Don, any thoughts on packaging yet...steelbook or something else special?
Synapse Films Still too early to say.

Pedro Santös please all regions, please!
Synapse Films Due to our agreement with the licensor, this release WILL be region-coded. Time to invest in an all-region player!

Michael Toscano Appreciate the update, what about Tenebre?
Synapse Films We'll announce it when it's finished. Can't say when that will be right now.
Michael Toscano That's ok, I didn't mean release date but how's the progress of that one going?
Synapse Films Jerry here: Tenebrae is very, very close to being done. We are working on one little surprise, and that should be it. More I cannot say

Synapse Films Uncut. Wouldn't do it any other way.

I've never seen a print with those sort of reds. Every version I've seen has always been more pink then red.

In that case, congratulations, you will be seeing Suspiria for the first time the way it should be seen. However how every version you've seen could have had pinks instead of reds is a mystery as only several of the Blu-ray tranfers struck from the botched Italian master (Italian, Asian and UK Blu-rays) had this problem.

They wouldn't have released them if they did't think this would be close. The pics look amazing, so I very much hope the Blu will look like this.

I wonder if Blu-ray will be obsolete when this finally comes out.

Do you really wonder? Would you rather them do a rush job?

They've stated on Facebook that they're future proofing it for UHD

I'm on the fence. As a horror fan, I'm told this is a movie, you MUST own. But I've always found it a bore and very difficult to get through. Haven't seen it since the late 80s, early 90s. Maybe, seeing it in my 40s, will make me appreciate it finally?

Have you seen an I.B. Technicolor print?

I tend to agree with you. The collector/Horror Film aficionado in me appreciates the film far more than the part of me that wants to sit down and watch it. I'd rate it right up there as one of the most over hyped films of all time. I don't mind the film, but it's not something I have a desire to watch even once per year. Given that it's been a few years since I fired up my Anchor Bay DVD,I'm due to give it another watch... sadly, that viewing isn't likely to happen until 2016 at this rate.

I've never truly considered myself that big of horror fan, but I am a fan of this movie.
"Giallo" may not always create fireworks in the minds of traditional horror fans.
IMO, it's more thriller, suspense, and specifically with Suspiria, incredibly artistic.
Of course, there are some pretty horrifying scenes in there, but the film sets itself apart from others just on artistic merit alone.
I hope you do revisit the movie and appreciate it for what it is.
