Not if when you ordered that the fine print was notated on the item listing or before you checked out. I've worked in credit / debit card fraud and disputes for years. If someone really wants to start a case for anything, you should probably talk to me and we can explore options. For cancellation, you need proof you cancelled the item before it shipped there are many tricky situations with what you're telling people to do. You can't claim not as described, you'd have to provide proof they you were supposed to receive an art box. You have potential options for returning the item, but then still it's tricky. International orders are very problematic to begin with.

I received my huge box (it's about 30x20x20) over a week ago, and it's still sitting in my basement closet, unopened... I was so mad about not getting the collection box, that I really don't even care about opening up the package. I'll get around to it over the weekend, I suppose.

Well, at least the silver lining is that Madman confirmed they will definitely be releasing it in Australia. Last edited by Nostalgic Twilight; 02-13-2016 at 08:53 PM. Reason: Added quote. |

I read somewhere that Aniplex of America, just like other American distributors have to bid for licenses of Aniplex titles, even though their parent company is Aniplex themselves. I think it therefore makes sense if they have nothing official to say about DtB, FMAB etc. because, for all we know, a bidding war may have started.
i recall someone asked AoA about Seven Deadly Sins home video rights before and they said that was in a bidding war (that was some time ago though) - not sure if we could have a situation like that at the moment or not. My guesses are that AoA will get the titles but things just aren't confirmed/set in stone yet so they don't want to make out they have the licenses if they don't. I could be totally off the mark here but I think it's worth considering those points when analysing AoA's rather blunt answers on those points. |

Yes Aniplex USA has never gotten a show for free. It was exactly the same with Bandai Visual and Bandai Entertainment. Bandai Entertainment never got a single show for free, just first dibs. They had to bid on their titles like everyone else.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood especially seems like it may be too expensive for AoA to get, and given not a single company has managed to license an Aniplex property in years, except a select few sequels (And even that disappeared as Wagnaria!!3 went to AoA instead of NISA). If AoA passes on a show, it is screwed, no question. Just look at the list and you'll see what I'm talking about. http://myanimelist.net/blog.php?eid=781052 (And reminder, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is expiring because Aniplex is NOT allowing FUNimation no matter how much money they throw to renew it. That tells you only AoA has any chance at grabbing it, no one else.) And yes they said they were bidding on Seven Deadly Sins. I doubt they bid on Dog Days S3 given no one else got it and on CR, it's not streaming in North America at all, pretty much just Asia, unlike S1 and S2 which are available in NA, but that was before the AoA gets everything thing. http://www.fandompost.com/oldforums/...l=1#post305320 Last edited by BigOnAnime; 02-13-2016 at 09:21 PM. |

Let's say AoA averages $60 per 5 episodes.
64 episodes divided by 5 = 12.8 12.8 x 60 = 768 I expect the complete fmab series to cost $779.99. Maybe $849.99 including the movies and OVAs. Last edited by GearstinCinema; 02-13-2016 at 11:02 PM. |

People pay that much for 64 episodes of anything? Yup depending on where you live, take that 768 and add 8.5% sales tax.

I can see AoA doing 5 season boxsets for FMAB, for about $120 each with a movie and OVA sets sold separately for about $60 each.

It seems to me that Aniplex, regardless of whether or not they intend to have them re-released through their American subsidiary, Aniplex of America, just doesn't want anyone else making any money off of their titles anymore. It sounds a bit childish to me actually, a "these are MY toys so you can't touch them!" attitude. But it is what it is, there's absolutely nothing we can do about it at this point, I fear.
