Kinda wish they would release some more of their earlier releases, but I guess Kino got a bunch of those recently. Still, I'm glad so many Paramount titles are now making it to Blu-ray. I really wish there was a list of all the titles that haven't made it yet.

Just from the 1970s (my favorite decade): 56 titles and I probably skipped or missed at least a dozen or more. Several on the list are available on blu ray from Europe or Australia.

1970s Paramount titles that have never had a U.S. blu ray release:

Paramount has added another late 60s/early 70s rarity to digital retailers. This time it's Been Down So Long It Looks Like Up To Me (1971).

For now it is only available at Amazon:

It has the original Paramount opening and closing logos.

It is in its original aspect ratio (1.85:1) and is a big upgrade over the copy of the movie currently floating around which is open matte 4:3.

With Baz Luhrmann's Elvis movie coming out this week, Paramount has upgraded a couple of Elvis Presley's movies digitally:

Yesterday, Blue Hawaii was upgraded to 4K on iTunes. So far iTunes is the only place to get it in 4K. If you previously bought it in HD on iTunes, you now have a free upgrade to 4K.

A few days ago, Paramount finally upgraded Girls! Girls! Girls! to HD digitally. So far it is only available at Amazon and the price is much higher than usual ($22.99):

I've only had to time to skim through it but it looks very nice. If you aren't a die-hard fan, I'd wait for Paramount to add it to the other digital retailers and lower the price to something more reasonable.

It is in German with removable English subtitles. There is no Paramount opening logo but there is a CGI Paramount logo at the end of the movie.
