True, but lots of the smaller titles won't ever get 4k. What's actually been released on 4k that they also released?

ZDT, Sicario, and Moonlight are all I can think of. I think Oldboy is upcoming.

I'd buy a 20th Century Woman and BPM BD release for sure.

No interest at all in owning new films on DVD.

I'm not buying DVDs anymore too, but if I was, I certainly wouldn't spend $25.00 USD per title.... you a bit silly with that, PA. Those are 4k BD prices.

I emailed them about it... and they responded. they really don’t seem to be concerned about the lack of Blu-ray releases. I even suggested Blu-ray Disc releases without slips and it was met without comment.

I’m assuming it has to do with maybe a mixture of cost, licensing and the Korean physical media market environment in relation to smaller indie stuff.

Weird that the same thing's happened for both Mamoru Hosoda movies.

But I already own Summer Wars on blu, so just like Boy and the Beast, I'll buy the Plain edition and then swap out the actual disc so that I have a dope edition but with a copy of the movie I can actually watch and understand haha

Interesting choice because Korea already had a release of Summer Wars come out in 2016 and it has English subtitles.

It's still available on Kimchidvd too.

Edit: It actually looks like it has an English dub too, so I don't understand the region copyright issues.

I'd love blus of basically all of their recent DVD releases, but I think I remember them saying blurays aren't as feasible for them in the current (Korean? I'm guessing?) market.... such a shame.

I wonder what happened to their Moon Young release? A pre-order is supposed to go up before May ends, but that seems unlikely.
