Well my husband has told me a few times now that the kids he works with (college) are REALLY are into physical media. Like SERIOUSLY into it! He said they all collect cassettes, vinyl, VHS tapes, and all forms of DVD/BD/UHD stuff. And a lot of them won't do streaming, or at least only do it a couple times a year. So if Netflix was smart they would release it all into seasons or a multitude of box sets (from basic up to LE stuff). He's really struggling to buy the vinyl for the show, that stuff sells out SUPER fast! He said he'd love my idea for a box set, I think they should do all 5 seasons on 4k (and/or Blu ray), with at least 5 disks of behind the scenes stuff, extras, interviews commentaries etc, plus full size/180 vinyl for each season too. Hell I'd pay $500+ for that and I'm cheap (I still buy a used DVDs often).

Think about it, someone like us (who really we only get netflix for 1-2 months a year, basic level (since our internet is a smidge over dial-up)) so they'll get maybe $60-80 from us doing this over all the years we'd pay them, and it's spread out between things like Stranger Things, Ozark and Somebody Feed Phil etc. By us buying 4k Stranger Things they'll make a LOT more money from us, and we'll still probably stream a month or so a year to catch up on stuff. They'll never make that much money off us any other way. Same with Disney and things like the Mandalorian. We'll never be subscribers but you can bet the farm we'd buy an expensive box-set for the whole show!

Same here, we cancelled as of today and won't get it again until the next Stranger Things comes out.

We do have seasons 1-3 on blu ray/DVD and 1-3 of Ozark as well, bought all of them used, not knowing 4 of those seasons were not real (the packaging is crazy good I never knew they weren't real until coming on here this year and not being able to find them in the database), we thought they had released them and we missed it.

And yes if they re-release/release them again we'd re-buy them.

And the reason Amazon didn't have the disks for sale is Target doesn't do streaming and isn't a threat like amazon is, Walmart I'm not sure why they didn't sell them there?

If there's nothing I want to watch on it, why pay a monthly fee?

I’ll cancel Netflix after Cobra Kai season 5 until something I want to watch is on there. They get a ton of great stand up specials.

Is the fact there is no proper 4k release of the series a Netflix thing or just specific to Stranger Things? Would be nice to have a full bitrate physical copy in 4K and Atmos rather than just the Netflix stream.

Most modern TV shows don't get physical releases much less 4k releases. You are lucky if you get famous old TV shows on Blu-ray but that seems to be picking up a bit recently.

Cobra Kai was mentioned. Look at that. It's a very popular show and we have no Blu-ray or 4k release. It did come out on DVD though.

It's a shame that we got snubbed on season 3 since 1 and 2 got 4k releases. I do think after season 5 that we'll eventually get a 4k box set though. The show is popular enough to sell a box set of the entire season but individual season releases don't tend to do very well on physical media.

Yeah, this is a bummer. I'm gonna be selling my Season 1 and 2 4K Sets. I was holding off to see if anything was gonna happen, but looks like nothing. Maybe down the road they'll do a box set.

Kinda stinks for those with bad/slow/no internet. There's no way for those folks to see all of these streaming only shows.

I'm assuming it's not beneficial to Netflix's business model and they'd rather see people subscribe to watch the show than purchase a bluray. Very unfortunate for those interested in collecting physical media though. But we can always hope I guess.
