If I was in your shoes, I would contact Amazon via the website (referencing your order) and tell them the initial batch of this set was deemed to have issues and that Warner Brothers has issued a new set with corrected discs. Tell them that the only way to know if you have the original or reissued set is by the .1 or .2 on the back of each disc. Ask them if they can assure you that you have the reissued set since you’re afraid to open the package and not be able not to return it. Ask them if you can open the set to verify the numbers and if it turns out they sent the original instead of the reissue, if they would honor a return and issue a replacement at no cost to you. By linking the inquiry to the purchase, if they agree, there’ll documentation for you to return the item. Hope this helps.

Can I ask a favor from you or others who may have the corrected set? I hear the UPC code for both the initial and corrected discs are the same. However, right below the UPC code, there's a series of numbers in tiny print: 3000083611 for the slip box and 3000083612 for the Blu-ray case. Can you verify if those small numbers are the same (3000083612) in the corrected set Blu-ray case? I'm wondering if this number is different for the the corrected discs Blu-ray case. Thanks in advance.

I opened the set I received from Amazon today, and it does have the corrected discs (whew-I was worried it was from the initial batch since it had the slip). What's strange is I looked at the numbers on the discs in my old set, and Disc 1 ends with ".2," but discs 5 & 8 end with ".1" in the old set. So you may not be able to go by just Disc 1.
The small numbers under the UPC code (3000083611/12) are the same on both of my copies. |

I noticed that in my set too. When I pulled out Disc 8 to check the number on it, it had a big fingerprint (and I was pretty sure I didn’t do that).

Even your local Barnes & Noble or Best Buy wouldn't do that. |

My recent copy with corrected discs from Amazon definitely had the slip box. I did not realize there was a version without the slip box! So having the slip box does not by any means definitively said that is the older discs.

That's not completely true. If you get the old set, you should easily be able to contact Amazon and explain you got old stock and the discs have been corrected so you'd like a replacement set. Amazon is very lenient with returns. Just explain they made a mistake with several of the earlier discs and you're not happy with receiving the old set. There's a very good chance they will send you a replacement set. Of course there's the chance the 2nd set may also be old stock too. Barnes & Noble and Best Buy are not nearly as returns-friendly as Amazon is.

My replacement set arrived from Amazon in ANOTHER bubble mailer. Miraculously it arrived in mint condition - with a slip and the corrected discs. The numbers under the UPC code end in 11 for the slip and 12 for the blu-ray case.

I can’t even read the numbers on the back. They’re too small for me to read with my bad eyes. I tried taking a photo but it’s too blurry. I need a magnifying glass to see it.
I found a magnifying glass app so I’ll use that to check the numbers. |

Bummer. I just received the set I ordered last week and I still got an old copy with all the issues. I'm returning it and I guess I'll try again next year or so.
If this is useful to anyone, it was bought at Amazon, shipped from Atlanta, GA via DHL, exported to Mexico. |
