I saw your post it seems like a an issue over the web...guess it's time to buy a 360 Elite. I have no warranty and cannot justify paying $150 to fix it when i just can but a completely new system not another PS3 for $299. Just spent over $100 on two games i have to bring back now.

There is a link on the 1st post of this thread of a guy on ebay that will fix your specific unit for $90 shipped (you also have to pay for shipping to him)
Sony is $150 and you most likely do not get back the same unit |

See then that doesn't seem at all worth it to me as my 60GB launch unit is special. All I want right now is my game data and game downloads. Could somebody answer me this? Can I take my HDD out and put it into the slim with everything intact?

Nope, switching the HDD to a different PS3 will require a format and it will delete everything. I have the same problem you have right now. I will either send it to the electronic guy at eBay or I'll fix it myself.

I have endless amounts of downloadable games and DLC. If I were to get a new PS3, is there a way to retrieve all of that without having to pay for it all again? I'm willing to work for all my game data again. It's only a few games anyways.

Yes. You can re-dl it all from your psn store list. It keeps track of what you got.

I just bought and hooked up a Slim PS3 but now I can't get my old 60Gb PS3 to work on my upstairs TV. It worked fine on my 1080p set downstairs but not my 720p set upstairs. It's just a blank screen. My question is, do I have to reset the PS3 to recognize 720p or should it do that on its own accord?
It's a newer LG 720p set using HDMI which works for the DVR so it's not the cable or TV. Btw, anyone else love how quiet and light the Slim is compared to the older, heavier PS3's? Nice. |
