Yes it does look good but the bw opening was a bit confusing since it just suddenly turns into color in the middle of the graveyard scene.

And the blu includes the uncut version too.

My Norwegian copy was sent out by Platekompaniet yesterday. I hope it doesn't take so long to get it.

Preordered this one at a local record shop that got me Holy Grail. They technically have an Arrow GBU on order for me as well, but I expect that one won't actually be fulfilled.

What do you think of the new scenes in the director's cut? Did you noticed any of the changes?
Like many others here, I'm really intrigued by this new cut!

That said, I’m pretty disappointed about the black-and-white intro. I really wish they had kept it in color. Maybe one day a company like Arrow will release an alternate version, one that includes all the new gore but restores the intro in full color. (Though I’m not holding my breath.)

For now, I guess I’ll have to choose: extra gore or color intro. I kind of wish I didn’t have to make that choice, to be honest. :P

Don't worry Cooey, I ordered one from HMV and one from Amazon, just to be on the safe side. If Amazon delivers (we already know that HMV will), you can have that one if you still haven't been able to secure one by then. Shipping will be peanuts

PS. Looks like it's still available on Amazon UK, but whether or not they're overselling at this point is anyone's guess. I placed my pre-order on day one so, fingers crossed!

You legend, thank you!

Yeah Amazon allows you to add to basket, but when you go to checkout it throws up an error saying there are 0 available.

New additions were very minor so i think it doesn't change your viewing experience .
I didn't noticed them at all but it's over 20 years i've seen this movie last time.

For the version that opens in B/W is the Columbia Pictures logo in Color? Or is it also in B/W

Quick solution for those who don't want to deal with remux shenanigans; Start the cut version and when you get to the scene it'd turn color in the uncut version, switch over to the uncut one. It's fiddly, sure, but it works. lmao

Don't have mine yet so I don't know the timestamp or chapter number though.

That won't work if the opening is extended where the B&W is. I'm sure one of those extra little bits from the workprint that may (or not) be using was the start....

Maybe ask AI to colour it in?

Hotly anticipating my shipping notification from Atomic. Holy Hell between this and the Elm Street collection, this is mindblowingly exciting. Totally wipes out all disappointment I've suffered from VS and Shout

Someone above suggested the differences between the theatrical and uncensored cuts are "minuscule" - I'm guessing it's going to be mostly very brief extended gore shots, blood spurts - that sort of thing. That's fine, I wasn't expecting entire sequences put back in or anything. Just happy to have a version closer to what Savini turned in before being forced to make edits. And on 4K no less.

That's what we'd made educated guesses at. The workprint on the fan circuit is mainly unfinished transition shots that likely won't be in this, multiple alternate or extended shots with more squibs, stuff like that. Seconds here, seconds there and no more than a couple of minutes in total.

But yes, this is seemingly going to be the version Savini would have turned in had he not been forced to have the R-rating, or his B&W opening vetoed. Not sure I like the sound of it suddenly jumping to colour, mind. I'd have expected a gentler transition.

I haven't seen this since the VHS era, I'm very excited for this one.

The black and white intro is a new change just for the uncut version on this, right? It wasn't done on the previous BD / DVD releases. Kinda goofy, but I'll give it a shot.

Interesting. Even less than we guessed at from the PAL-speed BBFC submission.

I don't believe the intro had any trims. We'll see though!
