So it will make any image fit the required dimensions either by shrinking or stretching if the image is off just a little? (So hopefully your image is correct to begin with but this is kind of a fail safe to make sure?)

Yes. You can also customize it by putting measurements in for other cover sizes.

Covers that custom artists create are created the right size.

For example my 007 covers are 3165 px x 1748 px which is the standard size for MGM Blu-ray covers in the United States.

I don't know how easy it would be to do, but is there any way you could convert this Bug's Life cover from the DVD size to a blu-ray size (and maybe switch the wording to read blu-ray + DVD instead)? That's the exact version that I have which came in a DVD case but I would prefer a blu-ray case for the shelf.

Anyone yet thought of doing a 4 cover set for the upcoming Bond 50 set.
I'm guessing the best way to set it up would be to split it up with the first 18 movies to be in 3 cases of 6 disc's each and the final 4 movies and bonus disc in the last.
Anyone?

Default Other Guys

Hey guys,
LOVE the work here. So much talent it's fantastic. I have a couple requests for anyone feeling bold enough to take them on:
-eternal sunshine of the spotless mind
-inception
-lion king/disney set?

No worries tho, I'm not gonna request without contributing. Here's my first complete (front and back) blu ray cover I've made for The Other Guys, please let me know what you think!!

Does anyone know what are the dimensions that I need to put in for a 22mm thick TRIPLE blue replacement box? I am using UndercoverXP. Thanks to anyone who can help.

I'm not sure if the Blu-ray is set up for 12mm or 15mm. But I have The Last Starfighter with a 12mm spine and the dimensions for that are 266 x 150mm. I would try adding another 10mm for the spine to make it 276 x 150mm.

Try a simple picture with dark lines around the border as a template (I don't think the Draw Cut / Fold Lines appear at that size) and go from there. Sorry if I can't be more helpful!

The font you're using for the text on the back is kind of amateurish - makes the whole thing looks like a bootleg.

The times don't line up under the "PG-13" and "Unrated" tags at the bottom (back cover). Also, those two boxes should be the same size, it looks like "PG-13" is slightly taller. Again, looks amateurish.

You have some typos in the description text. You call the character Holts, and then Holtz. Which one is it? Neither, it's Hoitz. Don't guess at names.

You also need to leave a little space between your text paragraph and graphic elements above and below. That text is crowding the photos and the "police tape" at the top of the back cover. Let things breathe a bit in your layouts, instead of jamming every square inch with stuff.

Speaking of photos, some of the screenshots you're using on the back cover appear to be stretched disproportionally to fit those little boxes. Hate to keep going back to the same phrases, but this is common on bootlegs and amateur jobs.

On the front cover, the collage is a little sloppy, and the extreme darkness over the bottom portion of the image (covering the car and explosions) doesn't work at all.

The tagline "Who Were You Expecting" seems small, out of place, and in a rather generic typeface. The way you have it is just...disconnected to the image. Doesn't work.

You might also want to include some tech specs on your back covers, as well. That tiny Dolby Digital logo ain't gonna cut it.

Not trying to be a jerk, but if you just get a bunch of "great job" comments, you're never going to improve.

Nissen has agreed to do a custom cover for "Skyfall" using my template when the Blu-ray comes out in 2013.

I will of course share the completed work on customaniacs.

Thank you for your feedback, benricci.

-What font would you recommend? I created the back with no former template at all, so I admit I was guessing a bit on the specs side of things. I actually based the back heavily on the original Blu-Ray's back cover packaging, which is pretty crammed with stuff.

-As for the front, the "who were you expecting" was already included with the source art i used to create the cover

If I wasn't so heavily invested in the Blu-ray steelbook series of this Marvel cinematic universe, I'd probably make a financial contribution towards getting my hands on that cover.
