Same here, nothing gets done unless I do it; a definite drawback to living alone. That's a pity, too, because I delegate tasks so well.
I have found that if I do my research, I can tackle most projects. A while back I had to replace the foam surround material on my rear speakers. While not a complex task, it required precision and it was a bit messy removing the old foam completely. If not done exactly right, your speakers will sound terrible. I succeeded on my first try and they sound perfect. Just don't ask me to do plumbing unless you want an impromptu indoor pool. Make a mistake here and you can cause some expensive damage fast. Some tasks are worth paying a professional to do. |

I try to do everything myself as much as I can. Pretty much that comes down to electrical wiring and roofing. Oh and I wont do anything that requires me to be higher than six foot on a ladder. I could do it, but I have a fear of heights.

Yes Groot, people fall off those ladders. In Palm Desert, CA my wife has always liked Christmas Lights and I was up an extended ladder trying to reach some of those high points. Talk about putting your Life on the Line! Now here in St. George I just put the lights down low.

I can't really draw by hand, just using photoshop, but outside of that I do a lot of artsy work for my business and crafts. Shirts, prints, posters, wreaths, cross-stiching, paper crafts, village displays, flower arrangements, wood crafts, furniture building, shelving props, signs, etc. Holiday themes and nerd hobbies are mostly what I stick with. I do some other things, but those are my main ones. Same thing applies for my business. If you can interior design, that's technically considered art. I can setup a house, but my office(s) looks insane. I have stuff everywhere. |

How is our beloved format doing? Are the sales decreasing? Is streaming taking over?
At least that's what reddit and other sites are claiming. "Blu-ray is dying","streaming is the future" etc. Sony didn't put an UHD drive into the PS4 Pro because more people tend to stream? Any truth here? I personally use some streaming services, mostly for series BUT i would never give up on physical media. I want to own the movie in the best quality possible as a physical edition. I still buy Blu-rays and plan on doing so. I'd rather pirate before going all streaming only. Not only doesn't streaming services have all the movies i like, they are also available for a limited time only. No extras, neat packaging/special editions etc. I just can't see how physical media will leave for good. So, how are the numbers? Are we safe? How about you? Thank you for reading. |

Most consumers can't afford physical media in the quantity they want to consume and don't have or want the storage space such a collection demands. Just as streaming is available for a limited time so are physical media discs, they do go OOP . |

Unlike streaming (or digital purchases) if the rights are lost, and the disc goes OOP, nobody is going to come to your house and take the disc away. That's why I've never understood people's obsession with collecting digital movies. My digital list I have is literally stuff I got free (legit) or happen to get in discs I bought. I never understand paying high or decent prices on something you'll never actually own. By that I mean actually buying digital not stuff like Netflix.

The responds here make it sound like physical media sales are indeed decreasing.
I can't see why i should give up on Netflix etc., their stuff is not available on Blu-ray. I don't get the "if you want physical media to survive, don't support streaming services.". Why can i not enjoy both? I'm still supporting Blu-rays. I prefer Blu-rays over streaming any day. Back to my question: are Blu-ray sales decreasing or not? Can anyone please with actual infos inform me? |
