I picked up Mirror Mirror and Mirror Mirror 2 2 weeks ago and having watched Mirror Mirror last week, tonight I checked out part 2. I have to say I absolutely loved the Orphan Video promotional video that was included on the release. It was such a fun and interesting piece of history that you never see included on films like this that made this release all the better for its inclusion.

Generally speaking its a 12 minute fluff piece promoting the company but beyond that It was so neat to see some of the statistics being tossed around. 300,000 Video stores across the US is splashed across the screen at one point as are multiple clips from some local mom and pop video store. This promo reel served as a really fun glimpse back into what was the norm in the early 90's I wish we could get more of these promotional advertisements included on more releases.

Not quite the same, but the Night of the Demons Blu-ray has a promo that was produced to sell the film to VHS retailers.

Ha! Good stuff! It's been a few years since I last watched the Scream Factory release of the film and so I had forgotten about this feature so it was like seeing it again for the first time just now. I don't know why but I really enjoy seeing these old promos and this one was great as well. Thanks for reminding about it.

For the first 3/4 of the film I really wasn't all that impressed, but sometime around the last quarter or so I started to look at the film in a bit of a different light and found it to be a nice reminder of what many average direct to video offerings provided back then. Mirror Mirror 2, House 4, Robocop 2/3 these are the kinds of films I remember seeing on WGN back as a kid in the 90's. These generally speaking weren't good films but they all had their own style about them that when I watch them now takes me back to that time. (I have no idea if Mirror Mirror 2 actually ran on WGN, just that it reminds me of the kind of films they aired on the weekends back then).

Mirror Mirror 2 is absolutely not a good film. Mirror Mirror is superior in every way and even it I'd rate at best as a C+ to B- level horror film, but both provide entertainment value if you are in the right mood and/or have the right nostalgia for them. I picked up both films recently from Best Buy, using a GC in the process and have 0 regrets. These are not films I would recommend to most folks, but for people with extensive collections and/or that are determined to watch everything horror related, you could do far far worse.

I am a biracial black man, a horror fan first and a new member to these forums. I will say the N word is a despicable word and never should be defended at any cost. I'm against speech policing, but there is nothing wrong with calling out vile hate speech. Just like you would be against anyone speaking destructive speech I would hope. I'm curious are they any black people in here? Don't come across alot of black horror genre fans honestly. Any way just my opinion. Thank you

You'd typically find these on screener VHS before the movie. I have one for Blood Salvage with a sweepstakes to win the car from the movie.

If you search "VHS Screener Promo" on YouTube, you'll find quite a few. Here's a fun one for Ticks, suggesting that video stores hold blood drives as a promotional stunt:
