What movies have you tried this with? And just to be clear, are we talking about LPCM audio formats or Dolby TrueHD or DTS HDMA decoded to LPCM by the player?

What kind of problem are you having?

On another note, I watched AVP the other night and was totally blown away by the audio. There was a scene early in the movie at the deserted whaling station where one of the scientists was hearing something move around him in one of the buildings (which turned out to be a penguin), but the sound transition between the surround speakers and front stage was never handled as smoothly with my old Onkyo 605. I'm still amazed sometimes by the SC-25.

Those are the best kind of "surprises" you can get in audio...I love when this happens to me. It puts a big smile on my face and reinforces that I definitely made the right decision in upgrading to my Elite (if I ever doubted myself, which I never have!)

I was watching the movie with my wife and I was like "did you just hear that?!" I even wound the scene back to hear it again. The receiver and my subwoofer continually put a smile on my face.

Guys, I'm looking for a power conditioner for my SC-25 / Samsung LED 46 / PS3 / BD Player.

I think I've got it narrowed down to the Belkin PF60 & then Panamax M5300-PM.
Now the Panamax is an extra $100, is it worth the added expense?

Any other input or recommendations are very welcome.

I have the Belkin PF60 and it's working great for me so far. It replaced a PF30 because the 30 only has 8 outlets. I paid about $200 for it through Amazon.

Only the LPCM movies. Master Audio and TrueHD sound fine. The reciever goes to STEREO no LPCM display unless I use the status button on the remote and the it says PCM and cycles through status of the reciever. P O T C are the lowest sound wise. But all of LPCM audio movies do not sound right. Is there a setting that I'm not using to get PCM or LPCM to display on the reciver while the movie is playing. Here's a list of movies I
have tried: Black Hawk Down, Cars, Crank, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, Halloween, Hellboy, Kill Bill 1 & 2, National Treasure, Pearl Harbor, No country for Old Men,
Spider-Man, and The Terminator.

My Pioneer BDP-23FD will be here tomorrow, I'm curious if i'll be able to control that blu ray player with my vsx21 elite remote? I'm hoping when i pair these 2 together it will really shine.

Thanks Steve I appreciate all your help. If I may ask one more thing...When you watch a LPCM movie do you select a playback mode or reciever does it automatically? If you choose the mode what would the setting be? Thanks again Lou.

If I'm not mistaken, you will have a great deal of control over the two components with the remote from either component if you use Kuro Link. However, many of us here have had one issue or another with Kuro Link and ended up turning it off. If you have a good universal remote, like a Harmony, I don't think there's much benefit to using Kuro Link.

I just put in Hellboy and The Terminator and they both defaulted to the DD tracks. I changed them to LPCM and the volume I'm getting is fine. It's about inline with any other movie I play. My receiver goes immediately to PCM when I turn on the PS3. I have an older PS3 so I have it set to PCM for everything. The only time it changes is when the receiver's not receiving a signal at all, like when the disc is transitioning between previews or something like that. Very briefly the receiver will flash to "Dolby PLIIx" and then back to PCM. It used to flash to stereo but I changed it to PLIIx.

Any time.

Madlou2 I really wish I could fiddle with your system myself just to satisfy my own curiosity. I really hope you're able to figure out what the problem is. One last thing I'm curious about. Have you every put the player on LPCM to let it decode all the audio and then send to your receiver? I'm just curious how an HDMA or TrueHD track would compare in that mode vs. bitstream. This is assuming your player can decode internally of course.
