I'm only 3 episodes deep though, so I only have that closing conversation between Shane and Rick's wife to go off of. As far as tents and being out in the woods.

Anyone ever been in GA or east of TX(Southern States) in the summer? Someone else pointed this out in the other thread, but being outside is hot enough. Putting yourself in a car would kill you faster than the walkers. From what I've gathered they went into the mountains because the number of walkers were more manageable there. Something I will say is at least they are out in the open. I know that doesn't make a lot of sense to some, but think back to the department store.

For one thing it puts you in a confined space and doesn't give you much room to fight off the walkers or anyone else who attacks you. So unless the place is heavily fortified it doesn't make too much sense to hole up just anywhere. From what I can tell it was a "let's get the hell out of here" situation and not a lot of planning was done. If it was, one of the first places I would hit would be a police station of National Guard armory. I think that would be a perfect situation though, this wasn't. Like anything, you can pick things apart. Where's the fun in that? It makes for interesting drama, which the show seems to be more about.
I don't think I ever said get in the car and roll up the windows. What's wrong with sleeping with the windows open a crack and doors locked? Not only that, as hot as you claim it may of been in the evening, they sure had no problem huddling near a fire.

The point is the writing of the comic or show, makes no difference to me, has people doing some of the stupidest things imaginable to create the drama. I think it can be done more realistically.

This has an interesting perspective angle to consider.

I would be like Rick... and I would not want to shower in that scenario... but Rick was in a coma during the month of apocalypse so to him he is still in normal-mode.

BUT..

The guy and his son... who maybe hadn't had a shower in a month and didn't know if they ever would get a hot shower again... they might not be as shy about it... and you'd probably be less concerned about a deputy sheriff than joe stranger.

Perspective is everything.

During that shower scene I wouldn't concerned with showering around strangers, I was thinking more along the lines of if a zombie was left in the station all you've got is your pecker in your hand to fight with cause everybody else was naked. If you've ever been in a gym, modesty don't matter lol, everybody is naked and most of them are showering. I guess since I am in the gym everyday this doesn't seem like a big deal to me.

I hear ya! Maybe I'm paranoid but basically every time someone is in a vulnerable situation, I get uneasy. So pretty much all the time. They don't know if someone was bit, but ran off to hide because they know they'll be getting a bullet in their head (well definitely should be). A walker could show up anywhere. One ended up in the sewer! I though they were going to get attached in the basement of the CDC when they went to check the generators.

Maybe it's because of Zombieland, but every time someone jumps in the car without checking the back seat, I'm like..."yer dead!"

The characters let their guard down more than I do, and I'm watching TV SERIES!

Seriously when someone as twitchy as Columbus has rules and manages to follow them, you'd think a cop could but Noooooooo, a twitchy video game addict with no friends and a love of mountain dew code red is smarter and more prepared. The only chance this band of idiots has is if they see a Cadillac speeding down the freeway with a 3 on the side.

Or, referencing my last post, someone like this guy.

Started watching the series for the second round and I guess my PVR missed the first few minutes of episode 1.

After all he learnt hanging out with Morgan and Duane, did Rick really stroll through a mess of abandoned cars and into a ravaged tent town with a revolver, a few rounds and a gas can?

Well he also, to quote Otis B. Driftwood, strolled into Atlanta on horseback "all f*****' big stick, walkin' tall, like a big f*****' hero. While passing hundreds of abandoned vehicles leaving the town. And at the first sign of trouble drops his bag of guns.

I'm beginning to think he's less like Buford Pusser and more like Roscoe P. Coltrane.

Rick is the Barney Fife of the Zombie Apocalypse, It'd be a HUGE step up to be like Andy Griffith, he couldn't even be Roscoe if he tried.

You're right! How long did he carry that Colt Python around empty?

In a world over run by zombies, its logical to think that if they think you're armed, they won't attack. I love how everybody in the group thought it was only in Georgia, like when the zombies got to the state line they'd just stop and turn around.

Every Zombie Death in THE WALKING DEAD
Quote:
The video consists of 42 deaths, with 37 edits, spanning over the entire six-episode first season. With season two most likely not coming until next October, hit the jump for the video which will hopefully tide you over until then.

Still have a couple more episodes until I'm done. Unfortunately time hasn't been my friend lately. That, and trying to keep up with my 17 month old has gotten me so tired I'm actually going to bed shortly after the usually do

I don't know but it's a huge annoyance for me. Every movie and tv show seem to be doing this lately. Must be a lot cheaper than the old school practical effects that actually look real.
