yeah i think its absolutly OK to wait for sales of "big" labels (compared to TWF Arrow is big, Eureka as well). and while these labels bring mostly movies that have already released by other labels (Criterion , Kino , Scream , Shout) or got at least pretty good DVD releases , movies from TWF are often the only eng friendly release world wide...

... thats if people want a small label to keep releasing movies that everyone knows to have bad sales anyway. Cant really compare a movie like "shady" to something like Theather of Blood with vincent price?

absolutly , for the reasons above. i dont see TWF giving away 4000 GBP gold bars anytime soon or offering 22+ GBP steelbooks in their own shop or opening a US sub-label

Agreed, we should all try to support TWF by pre-ordering A Snake of June, if it's as enjoyable as Tokyo Fist or Tetsuo then it will be worth it. Plus by doing so we are increasingly any likelihood of Adam looking into releasing Gemini.

Arrow and Eureka might be bigger companies but that doesn't mean they are immune to the problems facing Third Window.

All right, thanks for the answer!

you sure? someone posted a pretty long review about the release on bluray.com and it says there are german subs and no eng subs

As I said, optional English subs for the Japanese spoken parts. I've watched the Blu three times already, so yes, I'm sure. They're not listed an the cover, though.

I hope we get more Tsukamoto and maybe some Kitano this year.

Im already happy about the Snake of june release. Bluray upgrades for Tsukamotos other movies would be awesome. Maybe they could port some extras of the German DVD/Bluray releases from the Nipponconnection.

Watched the German bluray of Nightmare Detective Yesterday and liked it very much. It was a bit like a Mainstream version of his early movies. But you could still easily feel that its a Tsukamoto movie. ;D

Upgrades for Haze or Vital and Hiruku would be amazing. Maybe a "early Tsukamoto" boxset would be possible.

I can't seem to find anything on Amazon, the BVA or the Second Sight website to indicate that the Second Sight Kitano releases are OOP. If that matters - I can't seem to find anything that says the Tartan Snake of June DVD is OOP either. Maybe separate DVD and Blu-Ray rights?

My Korean Blu of Han Gong-Ju arrived this morning. I've been looking forward to seeing it since reading some reviews last year.

Im surprised that its listet as Bluray on amazon. i thought it would be DVD only !

Ive just ordered myself a DVD copy (german release) of

Hiruko - The Goblin
Gemini

paid for both together around 4,50 GBP shipped.

might pick up Haze as well if i find a similar cheap copy.

Watched Vital today (Tartan DVD). Awesome movie. really needs a upgrade. but the Tartan DVD was not bad at all upscaled.

Gonna Watch Nightmare Detective 2 now.

I love Vital. Actually all of Tsukamoto's films. Gemini is another standout. A special edition of one of his films with Haze included as an extra would be great.

I also thought Han Gong-Ju was supposed to be DVD only. A mistake on Amazon's part, no?

That's why I imported the Korean disc. I seem to remember Adam from Third Window saying that this was only going to be a DVD. Maybe I'm mistaken.

was supposed to be DVD only, but a lot of people asked for it, and don't have anything released from Greatful Dead until Han Gong-Ju, so saving up the money for it!
