Went to my local target around 10am. They had about twenty total copies of the 3D exclusive. Five were upfront by the registers, and I counted another fifteen in there a/v dept.

I had to go to a Best Buy several miles away from the location which I usually go to. Even the several Best Buy locations that were closer to me were sold out, but the Best Buy in the adjacent town had about seven copies left. Weird.

Technically, according to their price matching policy (and pretty much every price matching policy at every major retailer in the U.S.), they don't have to price match an exclusive. They only price match for the exact same item, and an exclusive is a different item. Some employees don't know or don't care about that, so they'll price match regardless. It all depends on the employee you're dealing with.

If you want to try to get them to price match, just show them the price on Wal-Mart's website.

Hahahaha! Actually I'm compensating, I'm thinking that with two disc I can see the beautiful artwork on the left side of the steel and I'm trying not to pay attention to the fact that there's a space for a disc there

I tried to price match the Target 3D Edition with the Loki slip with Amazon and Best Buy, and although it was basically the same edition under the slip, they couldn't do the pm because the items must be exactly the same and the Target version had the slip different and it has a bonus, but you can try it, some people have mentioned that in some Target stores the employees don't pay attention to this and price match the movies without a problem.

I know this isn't the place, but if anybody can pick up an extra Target exclusive for me, I'd really appreciate it. I'll Paypal price plus shipping costs. I have Paypal money but no spare cash to get it right now.

Only 2 discs: the blu and the 3D blu.
We all are assuming the empty space was for the planned inclusion of the DVD but those plans were scrapped.
So you're all set!

Yeah I don't really get many Disney movies outside of Marvel and a few others so I didn't know they had changed that. It's nice Disney finally got on board with the UV. Wish they had done it before Avengers though so I could use the Ultraviolet of that. I knew UV worked with my Iron Man 3 but I wasn't sure if that was because it was still being distributed by Paramount. Glad to know and will be getting my 3D copy in a few hours.

I wonder how many unassuming people will be questioning this when they open their copy.

Disney is not part of UV, and any Disney DCs redeemed for Vudu stay in Vudu and are not accessible thru any other UV provider. They are accessible thru Disney Movies Anywhere if also redeemed for DMR points. Also, Iron Man 3 was distributed by Disney and the Paramount name only appears as a condition of Disney acquiring the distribution rights to the last two films Marvel Studios had under its distribution agreement with Paramount.

Just watched the movie and the one shot. Love the movie but that one shot was something else. Hopefully they go somewhere with what comes to light. Loved

How so? Based off the IM3 release it seems it would have been higher.

Yeah I knew about the Paramount distribution deal I just wasn't sure if they were the ones releasing the Blu-rays of those last movies but I guess Disney started doing that with Avengers because the back of my 3D Avengers does look very Disney in style. Also VUDU is really the only UV service I use so that really doesn't bother me.

These always have me laughing. Do people ever really pay these insane prices or are the sellers crazy. I would just get to Best Buy first before spending 60 extra dollars for a steelbook.

a lot of them DO get those prices. many times they ship over seas or people automatically assume it's sold out everyone because the seller says so. never underestimate the laziness of people
