Where are you getting that from? That video review says nothing about the 2007 disc.

I thought that the 35th edition was in there, but it's actually the older one? Wut? Not even gonna complain 'cause I got the excellent Spanish BD anyway, if the 2007 is in there then that can act as another 'representation' of the film

I somehow got onto the guy's other unboxing video.

".. The Bluray Disc that's included is not the Dean Cundey restoration..... it's actually the original Halloween Bluray disc released in 2007...."

Exactly, I have so many versions that I don’t care. I’m buying it for the 4K goodness.

Why would I console myself about the HD options that are included/not included with the existence of inferior formats?

That Spanish version of the original one is a bootleg. These ones are the only official ones: http://www.mubis.es/busqueda?q=Halloween

*Hallowwen II - Special Edition (in digibook form, cause there's a bootleg too in a normal case and a few more extras)
*Halloween III - Special Edition (same as the previous one)
*H20 (in the proper aspect ratio)
*Resurrection
*The Curse of Michael Myers
*HII 2009 (the theatrical cut)
*And a combo release with Resurrection, Curse and HII.

There is many versions of Halloween available for purchase and we all knew that the included BD would be one of the previous releases. If you’re not satisfied then don’t buy it. If you want the 35th anniversary it’s available at a low price. We are in the 4K thread after all.

Lionsgate don't have an interest in people immediately upgrading their hardware. So why would they want to disappoint people thinking that at least the previously definitive 35th anniversary restoration would appear on the BD included in this set, by providing them with something they likely already have and possibly even want to get rid of. It makes no sense. If the 35th disc was included, I could understand. The pics of the UHD look very similar to the previous BD colour wise. But some people call the colour of the 35th crap and the 2007 not much better. The rehabilitation of the 2007 disc is just perverse.

I don't think we did know that.

I didn't force them to include a BD with the set. It would make far more sense if the product included reminded people, in an authentic way, that they are missing out without the hardware to play the UHD.

I already have the 35th and the 2007. I would buy the UHD without hesitation if it didn't have such a perverse choice of BD to accompany it.

Well I for one am not complaining. I just have preferences for this particular film, and I know this UHD will not satisfy them all. I’m sure the detail will be a bit stronger than my version, but it won’t have the grading I prefer, the PCM mono track, the scenes I prefer to have included, etc. So I’m just making an educated decision to enjoy this movie as I prefer to enjoy it. I’m certainly not bashing this release in any way, and I hope that everyone who buys it absolutely loves it. It’s just not for me.

TBH, it’s pretty great to finally say to myself “I have this in ultimate form as far as I’m concerned”, and give myself permission NOT to buy it again. I’ve certainly bought it puh-lenty of times.

On the other hand, this forum is exactly where people SHOULD voice opinions and concerns about things like this. That’s the whole point of the forum.

If the 35th Anniversary was included people would find something to complain about. Studios cannot win unless they include every version released. As I said, if people want that version they can buy it. I gave my 2007 BD away to my sister so the way I see it, I’m a ahead with every HD release but no way I’ll watch it unless the UHD is botched.

Welp, looks like I’m keeping the 35th Anniversary Disc and swapping that with the garbage 2007 disc...

Your point being? If I give my 2007 BD to your sister I'll have nothing to complain about?
