There's nothing revolutionary here - the keyword was "simple."

It was also my friend's idea to have the key art bleed onto the spine. Apparently, my friend hates plain black spines. Who knew?

Excellent work Scott.

It was searching for a BTTF trilogy custom cover that first got me interested in custom covers in the first place - because the official packaging is so horrendous and once I had transferred the digital copies to iTunes they essentially became coasters.

I also like to span my artwork onto the spine too for a number of my custom covers.

I hate big boxes o' crap, too, but for these movies, I would gladly make an exception.

Yeah, the artwork isn't great but I think I was more impressed with the overall presentation.

Anyway, I appreciate the kind words from everyone. They mean a lot.

Onward and upward!

I'm guessing that Nissen got it with some modifications from the Advance 1-sheet:

Like Darren said, I used that advance poster as basis for the front.

If you mean the screenshot on the back, I scanned that from the cover of an old issue of Cinefex magazine.

PM me and I can send you the image. (It's a little rough).

There's also a small online version of it here:http://backtothefuture.wikia.com/wiki/Skyway

If they're for his own collection & nobody else's I wouldn't bother trying to get the artist's permission

Yeah, I was actually referring to the screenshot on the back. When I attended FSU (for one awful year), I'd sit in the library and go through their Cinefex collection - they actually had nearly every in-print issue! Of course, I don't remember all the images they used.

If you like Cinefex, you might appreciate this guy's retrospectives: https://grahamedwardsonline.wordpres...etrospectives/

Here's a 1024 x 934 pixel version of that image.

Hardly high resolution but big enough for a back cover image.

Note however, that this is not technically a screenshot. Although used extensively in 1989 to promote the movie the image does not appear anywhere in the finished film.

In the movie Marty, Doc and an asleep Jennifer descend down to Hill Valley with the camera placed behind the DeLorean and the Phoenix, Boston, London sign above it.

In this unused image, the camera is in front of the DeLorean with the sign above it.

When Marty, Doc and Jennifer go back to 1985 the camera is in the car so we do not get to see an external shot of the DeLorean as it passes the sign.
