Hi Noir,

Maybe the home theater release will not be as much a disappointment?

Read many times people found the 3D better on their own systems than that of the movie theater.

Will let ya know my thoughts in two months.

Hi shaggy,

This was the first disappointment I purchased full price, having to get it from Raul. But still glad I have it.

The Tom Cruise film held my interest only because of the 3D which was good. Otherwise might have skipped this one. It's just my own taste.

Wonder how many buy titles in 3D they wouldn't buy otherwise?
I have very few 3d titles that I would have purchased in 2d.

This weekend I watched Wonder Woman in 3D

I really could have done with a stronger conversion, but it was still infinitely superior to the 2D version. Every scene with slow motion and/or weaponry was enhanced by the 3D, with even a few pop-outs here and there. Overall it felt weaker than the last couple of DC conversions but depth and separation were OK, the main problem with the 3D for me was Avatar syndrome - instead of ramping up the 3D for the action finale, it seemed to be dialed down a bit. Perhaps that's down to the nighttime airfield setting but at that point there were few 3D thrills to be had.

As always though, the bottom line is that 3D looks better than 2D to my eyes so I do not regret ignoring the 4K version as I have zero interest in watching this film flat ever again.

Hi Damon,

Same here. If they were not 3D to begin with, there are many I would not have been interested in for more than a watching on cable, but not to buy or even record onto dvd-r. 3D just does something to a film that other visual enhancements can't!

I'm 47 and have no kids and still buy every animated film released in 3D as they are tonnes better than any live action films are 3D wise.

As much as I love 3D, it would have to be a genre I have interest in. I wouldn’t buy a film just because it has great 3D. That’s great for you if you enjoy them. I understand why people buy them it’s just not for me.

I found, having owned a couple thousand dvds at one point, that I seldom re-watched any of them. The fact that I can watch most 2d movies on Netflix, Amazon, or rent makes it pointless to purchase them. Buying 3d movies are nearly as cheap as watching them at the theatre if you're a savvy buyer and since they probably will be unavailable at some point, they are somewhat collectable just for the h3ll of it. Now that my local movie rental store seems to have stopped getting 3d movies (passengers was the last one they had), Vudu is the only place for me to rent 3d. unfortunately I already own all the titles they have.

Back on topic, I just watched Predator 3d again with a friend. Yes, there were some flat and mild spots, but there were also some good ones too. It helps that I really like the movie anyway. My friend also enjoyed it! This is only movie that I own on DVD, Blu-ray, and Blu-ray 3D as separate purchases.

Just bought:

For when darkness fall...

And to keep completing my Spider-Man series on Blu.

* Sony sucks, among other Hollywood movie studios, to not include 3D immersive audio with both the 3D immersive and three-dimensional picture and the regular 2D Blu. But they do with the 2D 4K Blu-ray.
I will keep mentioning it till they change their sick geeky tunes, and dictatorial entertainment regime.
We live in the year 2017, this ain't George Orwell's opposition world.
