I have a thick skin, and I have always said it's all Digital now and Streaming from a Disc or a Server is all the same. Yes my friends had small Disc Collections, but they were DVD's nothing recent.

As for Retiring, I Retired from PacBell, which SBC took over and then they acquired the AT&T name. I started with Pacific Telephone Company in 1964, as a kid running jumpers as a Fame Person this was the Normandy Office in L.A. Throw in the Army, Vietnam, and San Jose State getting a Business Degree in 1975. Went into Management was a Central Office Supervisor, ESS Trunking and Provisioning, and Service Manager working with Marketing. Retired in 1996 from PacBell/SBC.
A refutation of a lie is not an attack. You have a history of telling them. You are attempting to deflect from the fact that you were caught in another lie; it's that simple.

No one but PenguinInfinity himself knows why he left. I do not recall having leveled any criticism towards him. You are assigning blame without any evidence, again, in an attempt to divert attention from your lies. Parceling blame when you know nothing as to why he left is still another lie. Telling lies is a habit with you.

Disc playback and streaming content over the internet is not the same thing. Many have already tried to explain this to you, but you are unable to comprehend.

Many things are digital. It in no way means they are the same thing. Even within the same class of digital file there are differences in quality. Again, this has been explained to you by many, but you can't grasp it.

No one believes that you thoroughly examined the contents of each of your friends disc collections and that you also know when they last made a purchase. You said they did not buy discs; clearly they do.

SBC acquired PacBell (more precisely: Pacific Telesis Group) in 1997; a year after you claim to have retired. SBC did not acquire AT&T until 2005; you claim to have retired in 1996. Therefore, you did not retire from AT&T, contrary to your recent claim otherwise.

Only now have you started to say you retired from "PacBell/SBC" instead of AT&T; the SBC part is questionable as SBC did not acquire PacBell (Pacific Telesis Group) until 1997- you say you retired in 1996.

One lie is arguably an anomaly; 4+ lies is a pattern. It is characteristic of a habitual liar.

For the umpteenth time, it is not. Read my lips slowly, just because something resides in binary form does not mean anything unto its self. Binary data is binary data, no matter where stored. You can have a 48kbps binary MP3 of a song but it is not the equivalent of a 1,411kbps binary PCM of that same song.

Get it? Both are binary, as such they could be stored on a paper punch tape, floppy disk, HDD, optical disc but the contents sure as !#&* are not the same.

IMO, its only a matter of time before all the providers stop supplying digital codes. EST just does not have the appeal, if it did then the sales would be much better.
You're making things up now.

Fox has only stopped granting UV rights to new titles.

Universal did a while back as well.

This is inevitable as they are all pushing Movies Anywhere and UV is on its deathbed. You still get MA rights for these movies.

And they are not going to stop putting MA codes with discs as they would like to gain awareness for MA.

It has not even been out a year. Only nerdson forums truly understand it, more casual buyers have no clue.

Edit: even you on this forum do not truly get it, furthering my point

I gotta go and work on my sister's new TV now, weather permitting. A line of thunderboomers looms large on the horizon. I must power off my toys.

Like I said, Attacking People is not correct. I called in there too trying to talk to someone, and all I got was a recording. Chad is not correct, they don't have 4 Aisles of Movies anymore, they had them, now only a few Displays. When I get in there I'll try to find Chad to set him straight. You guys are like Politicians trying to discredit someone. Why can't we all get along?

I had respect for you Wendell, but you're just a Bully like Vilya. Penguin left for a reason, and I think it's because you jumped all over him like you do with me. I know what I saw at Best Buy, and those Movie Aisles are gone no matter what your Chad said, the store is all rearranged.

Put a Movie on a HDD for a Theater or a Disc Sound and all. Access that Movie and you'll get the same results. I'm not saying the Streaming Providers are doing that now, but they can. I have done it, Kaleidoscope does it, so it can be done. We all try to get the best price for our Movie watching, I shop for the best price in Digital you do it for Disc. I have never gone for Free Codes, no matter what Vilya says. You're right Codes with Discs will probably fade right along with Discs.

This thread has also taken an odd turn. It seems personal and dudes with too much time on their hand are actually calling other people's local stores.

It's truly bizarre.

I am a bully because I do not let your fallacious comments and outright lies go unchecked? You are deflecting again. Instead of owning the responsibility for making repeated false statements, many deliberate, you are instead trying to portray yourself as a victim. You are only a victim of your own actions. Actions have consequences and that is all that is happening here.

You have earned the replies that you have received. You have warranted the rebukes you have received because you keep repeating falsehoods, hyperbole, baseless predictions, and even bold faced lies despite multiple people correcting you multiple times.

Unlike your endless capacity to repeat misinformation, patience has its limits. Early replies to your nonsense drew milder rebuttals, but your insistence on repeating your mistakes, and now your lies, has garnered you sterner replies. You did this to yourself.

Yes, PenguinInfinity left for a reason- a reason unknown to you. You do not know why he left, period. You have no evidence of any kind to support your accusations, but that has not kept you from blaming me for it and now you have decided to blame Wendell for it. This whole issue of why he left is just another attempt by you to redirect attention away from your own mistakes.

Chad works in a Best Buy call center. If your call had remained on hold long enough, you would have reached someone like him.

Chad was aware of the Washington, UT store being remodeled. He even brought up the subject himself. I asked him where the movies were located. He referred to a schematic of the store's new layout and told me exactly where I would find them and he told me how many aisles of movies I would find. He told me there were four aisles at the Washington, UT location.

Chad also confirmed that Best Buy has no plans to drop physical media, specifically movies, from their stores.

Stores go through remodels regularly. Rearranging the location of merchandise is not the same thing as removal of that merchandise.

So, who do we believe, Chad, a confirmed employee at Best Buy that both Wendell and I have spoken with or do we believe you with your abysmal track record of misinformation and lies? The question was rhetorical; we believe Chad.

Further, as I have already told you, I was at my local Best Buy just two days ago. I bought a movie while I was there. The movie section was still there, all 4 aisles of it. An employee at the store's entrance made a point to tell me that there were many more movies in that department than were featured on the display at the front of the store.

You feel hurt and you want to blame me. Go right ahead. In reality, though, your wounds are self-inflicted. Man up, own your mistakes- learn from them, retract your lies, and move on.

We got plenty of time for you, too, if you are feeling left out.

Calling a store, singular not plural, is not exactly time consuming nor does it take much effort. Proving he lied, again, was well worth that minimal effort. Some of us prefer facts to fiction.

Welcome to the Twilight Zone; strap yourself in.

You can't hurt me, I have a hard shell. Chad works in a Call Center and hasn't seen the remodeled store. Those 4 Aisles were back there where the TV's are now, all they have are a few 4K, Blu-ray, DVD Displays left. I didn't lie about anything, I know better with you guys. Here take a look at this, I know more stores would be headed in the same direction.

https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comm...uraysteelbook/

I know now you will rationalize something because you are never wrong. Now it's your turn to apologize for your false accusations, but I won't hold my breath!

Your link is just to another forum with another anecdotal observation. The person posting in that forum says that disc inventory was greatly reduced, not eliminated, at the Lake Charles, LA location. He further claims that an employee told him that they would cease to sell discs at some unspecified time in the future.

It does not disprove the veracity of what Chad, a verified employee at a Best Buy call center, had to say about discs being sold at the Washington, UT location. Chad also stated that Best Buy has no plans to drop discs from its stores.

Whether the movies are displayed in aisles or on other types of displays does not change the fact that they are sill being sold inside the store.

Your recent lies are as follows:

An unnamed "sales rep", presumably a store clerk, allegedly tells you that they are getting rid of all discs at the store. Yet, after a full remodel they continue to sell them. You stated that the the movie aisles are gone. Best Buy call center employee Chad disputes this saying that discs will continue to be sold at that location; he also states from checking a store schematic that the movie aisles remain. Most retail chain stores have something called a "Plan-o-gram", or "POG", that shows where every single solitary item is precisely located at each location. Did you actually check the entire rearranged store and visually confirm any of what you were allegedly told?

You said your friends do not buy discs, but then you say they own disc collections.

You said your retired from AT&T. You did not and you have finally admitted that you did not, but only after I had already proven it.

You have blamed PenguinInfinity's departure on me, without any evidence, when I have not leveled any criticism towards him.

After pointing that out, you are now blaming Wendell for his departure, also without any proof.

Where are your apologies for even one of these lies? You have not offered a single one.

These are just among your recent whoppers. I have accused you of lying because you tell lies. I am confident I could cite more such examples, as could others, but just how many lies do you have to be caught in before the accusation is confirmed? Another rhetorical question; it has already been confirmed.

I grant you the last word on this subject; the Defense should have the last say. I feel continuing this conversation serves no useful purpose and I would wager that everyone has long grown tired of it.

I knew you wouldn't be wrong Vilya, because you know everything. I go to that Best Buy Store all the time, it's not very big so I was familiar with the old layout. Those 4 Movie Aisles were back where the TV's are at now, they are gone. We will just have to wait a little while, I'm sure Best Buy will have an announcement. Don't worry your beloved Discs will be around a little while longer, but Streaming is here to stay! You guys throw your punches, and you think it doesn't hurt anyone. Wendell does it with some subtlety, and you do it with what you say are jokes!

You can’t go saying things like that. Penguin was (imo) just as offensive as everyone else. He called me a jerk for not being as passionate about games on disc as I am films. The post was deleted but a couple of members on here saw it and will back me up.

Maybe, just maybe, those four aisles are just two units with discs on each side and what both described are correct?

How do I know this? That’s how my store was the last time I visited with a large dump bin for cheap titles and those center stacks for big new releases.

I read the back page just now, he says all the main disc aisles are gone with just some 4K and a few units on the back. That’s damn near accurate for my store. The aisles are about my wing span size (6 foot) and stuffed behind the gaming section now, which is also considerably smaller. The front of the store was cellphones and headphones. Also had a bigger Apple area. Oh and they sell a bunch of vinyl and Funko now.

Still weird as hell to call someone’s local store. Plus it’s not hard to google that the stores have cut down their media sections heavily.

No more weird then several people on here wanting me to take photos of my local HMV to prove how well stocked in discs it is! I wouldn’t mind but I only go in for work as I work with people with special needs.
and one of them loves buying films. They wanted me to be snapping pictures instead of looking after my client!

I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt as I could call those short little sections units vs aisles and still be correct. They stack the different disc types behind the movie covers now so he may also not have legitimately seen the other types.

There’s plenty to go at him about but this isn’t the hill to die on.
